O im used to it. This is not my first thread. I knew what I was getting into. Trust me no anger is coming from me. This…is as expected. lol.

an active online gm-base dedicated to answering player reports AT THE TIME OF REPORT to chase down and permanently delete bots and the account they are on would be a huge asset to the integrity of this game. honest player have had to give up doing things that make them happy and find work-around to bots and hackers in this game for far too long. bring back a solid GM base and lets let these bots OUTA HERE

just out of curiosity. encountered this in a BG last night. a druid bear holding mid flag 7 fully conqest geared dps players vs 1 tank, indefenitley. is this a hack?

They need to start hardware and IP banning bots it’s the only way to make a impact make it not cost effective to bot.

what about IP vanish tech? wont that make it so that they cant be IP tracked?

If you watch the video above, it will say why blizz does not like IP bans. IP bans sadly sometimes effect totally valid players.

Also alot of these bots are coming from virtual machines in Russia and other countrys.

But I agree with you that more should be done.

That’s why you hardware ban also do both no hope for people who use bots to make a profit.

Some innocent people can be effected but scorched earth policy should be in place for bots.

Truly innocent players just need a descent repeal process if the ban was made in error.

Exactly. No holds barrred punishments for mass bots. Individuals probably could be somewhat more forgiving, but the literal army of bots in virtual machines running for months on end needs to go ASAP.

so… you invent some random terminology, and expect people to understand what you’re talking about?

in all the years i’ve played this game, not once have i ever heard anyone use the term “spores” in relation to nodes.

i asked if it was something like that earlier… dude was too distracted by trying to be an edgelord.

thanks for the clarification.

(and i still haven’t seen any, so i’ll go in there with a gatherer tomorrow so i’ll be frequenting the same locations)

Keep in mind that even if you report them every day for a month, bans for botting are done in mass and not individually. So you may see the same bots for a couple of weeks before they are finally hit. They say they do this to make it harder for bot software developers to counter it as they have to wait longer to test out there changes. This game has always had it’s problem with bots, even when there were active GMs in game.

The issue is it is too profitable and they make back the cost of their bot accounts so quickly it doesn’t really matter.

hahaha i just clicked the video up there with the “masses” of bots… i guess “masses” has a new meaning these days.

i feel like some head-exploding would happen if OP hung outside Botanica

(and why is the dude playing the victim about his chat being disabled, after he claims to have engaged in harassment?)

bots persist because they’re lucrative, not because nothing is being done about them.

Isn’t that kind of the same thing? They’re high profit, so turn a blind eye, make some PR statement saying “we ban a lot!” because you know a lot of naive people will eat it up?

Bro you off your rocker. Not only do I have to explain everything to you in painstaking detail, you completely misunderstood the video. I see why you post on a alt.

Sodapoppin got busted buying botted gold a couple months ago.
He got a smack on the wrist and a stern talking to.
So he’ll be right back at it very soon.

Had MS deleted his account it would have sent a stronger message to him and his followers.

ya know…
MS owns both this game and the OS it runs on.
They could deploy an OS level anti-cheat and be well within their rights to do so.
The only thing stopping them is the will to do it.

They’re trying some higher level techniques.

Such as the “must pay for an account” thing they recently added. Banning GDKP in SoD.

They have to stem the demand curve to help stem the bots.

Dunno what else they are going to try.

Be curious if the next expansion they add new, untradeable (but BoA) currencies to get things in game. Let the bots farm, but if they can’t move the currencies, there’s not much value.

not remotely. it’s like saying “you can get illegal drugs anywhere in the country at any time, therefore obviously the government is doing nothing about drugs”. obviously not true, it’s just another problem where basically endless demand vs finite resources to combat it means it can sometimes look like “nothing” is being done.
