So have we given up the fight against botting or what?

It does not matter what version of wow you play. Retail, hardcore, classic, w/e its the same story. This game has been infested with bots that have been running rampant for a long long time now. Why is nothing being done?

I mean I get it, they pay a sub too. But why not ban them so they have to buy the entire game over again? Isnt that even more money? And keep doing it until its no longer profitable for them to keep buying the game! Then back off. Then allow them to creep back in. AND THEN BAN THEM AGAIN…

As it is now, no banning no control no nothing. Big heaps of nothing is being done about botting. It is against the rules correct? Why are we not enforcing the rules for HUGE stretches of time…

I have heard all the arguments. I have heard all the pros and cons. Just let the playerbase control their own economy for just a little while. Please. Thank you…

Honestly they should just give me the power to ban accounts. I could probably completely solve the botting issue in DF at least, single handed. I even know where to go after them in BFA zones which they still farm to this day.

I report them all the time. Its not hard to find out whos botting. They get stuck on rocks and bug out, they usually have 700 achievement points or less and yet millions of gold earned / carried. It cant be that hard to root them out…

Private servers do not have this issue. But a million dollar company cant fight against them? Not buying it. They are choosing to do nothing. The question is…why?

they only do a ban every X amount of months instead of every week like they should

What would you suggest?

Do something. Anything. Anything is better than nothing. Right now nothing is being done. Entire guilds of bots just running rampant.

I am pretty sure the playerbase does report these bots. I think we are doing out part. But nothing is being done. Thats just awful…

How do you know this?

Blizzard says they ban them in waves but i suspect that’s just an excuse to collect sub money off them for longer before doing anything.

I’ve seen the same bots in zaralek cavern for months now.

Yes

You gotta be living under a rock not to see for yourself. But if you dont trust your own eyes, or myself, check out streamer videos showing “bots going to work”. You can literally google that and find recent evidence of rampant botting going in every version of wow.

You didn’t answer my question. How do you know that nothing is being done? I dunno how much you know about bots, but for every 1 of them you ban, 2 more sprout up in their place. This isn’t the only game where they’re a problem either. I would say this is one of the games with the least amount of bots and hackers, in comparison to almost every other online game.

What would you suggest Blizzard do? There are millions of players and probably an equal amounts of bots. Should someone be designated to sit there for 12 hours a day and scan through all the code to try and detect botting software?

If you see a bot, report them, that’s all that CAN be done. It is not physically possible to ban every bot and it never will be.

They ban in waves. They get a nice collection of programs registered in their system, then ban. That way when the account gets banned, the bot coders don’t know what specifically got them banned and they have to do more work to get it back up and running.

What’s weird is you can take one blizzard employee for one day and have them sit in Z caverns and ban so many people. And yet the problem continues

I also think I could make a dent in the botter market. Could I get rid of them all? Surely not…but I could at least get rid of the obvious botter guilds out there.

I know they used to do this, but I don’t know if they still do. Either way, the bots are being created far faster than they’re being banned so the ban waves are doing nothing.

If the devs are waiting 3-6 months (or what ever the period is), then that’s 3-6 months of a problem just festering… and after they supposedly do a ban wave, the bots are right back at it.

Clearly the devs have no idea how to solve this issue.

I trust me own eyes friend. When I see rampant botting in every version of wow, then obviously there is a problem. If you arguing they are doing everything they can, then sir…I gotta call BS on that. Sorry. I reject that logic.

Exactly. That cave is the biggest offender there is for bots. As soon as something spawns, 16 red dragon plop down all over it. Its crazy…

You shouldn’t. Your eyes play tricks on you more often than you realize.

I’m not arguing that it’s a problem, but you are still not providing solutions to it. It seems like all you want to do is complain about it.

What would you suggest they do instead?

These have to be troll posts. It’s like no one listens.

Thats some umm a…premium gaslighting there sir.

No. I want something done. I want them banned. I am not complaining just to complain. I want action. On there part. I want them to enforce there own rules…

Actually ban bots in a timely manner. Are you being obtuse on purpose or what?
