The money it would cost to do proper monitoring and follow-up is very significant.
I seriously doubt that. Blizz is known for being cheap as hell even to game designers and directors. Much less a few college kids banning bots. Give them the tools needed to succeed and get to work. Simple as that.
Its just a matter of WANTING to do it. As of now I see no desire to get rid of these bots. And that is sad.

Havenāt really noticed them in retail since BFA tbh. Was pretty bad in Wrath classic though. I guess bots prefer higher pop realms to bot on idk. They ban in waves. Gives them some time to review the reports, and gather the evidence before they all out ban bots.

Well the waves need to be increased in frequency. Right now a ban wave once or twice a year just isnt cutting it.
Do you ever go in zaralek caverns? Literally tons of bots in every single shard in every single server. Its pretty hard to missā¦
Same goes for classic, and other versions of wow. They are everywhereā¦

Maybe idk. Like I said they look at the reports, and make sure they have the evidence before outright banning someoneās account. Seen posts before where some players were falsely reported, banned, but then got reinstated. Again, they probably just want to have the evidence gathered before just auto banning someone.
Why do you associate the presence of bots with the lack of action on Blizzās part? It has already been explained to you that there is no stopping botsā¦in any gameā¦ever, especially not WoW, where gold in it has real life market value.
Do you walk around town, stepping over refuse and just automatically assume, that since youāre seeing trash on the ground, that no one ever recycles? That your local government doesnāt lobby for cleaner streets?

I mean thats fair. I get that. But its really not that hard to tell hows botting and who isnt. Just look at achievements. Botters generally have 1k or less. They get to 70 or max lvl fast as possible, do nothing elseā¦and then bot bot bot.
That should at least flag the system. Then go from there.

I am literally here right now. They are farming the spores I think. They sell for 10G per single spore. Used to be moreā¦but alas the bots have farmed and farmed this area to death, dropping the price. They used to be 20+ per spore.

Itās like asking have we given up the fight against germs. No, as long as life exists, so will bacteria and viruses.
So long as MMOs exist, so will bots. It sucks, but itās the reality of our fantasy game.

They do that regularly.
And my eyes saw a bunch of boomies from a specific server with names that were clearly someone just trying to get an easy name, both in a spot in Bastion and Revendreth starfalling everything. I reported one each time and mentioned that there were many around them doing the same thing. Then then next time I went to those spots, nothing. And I doubt thereās enough people not in Chromie time to warrant a shard beyond warmode. Seems like something happened to them if you ask me. 
See something that looks like bot farming, report them. While they canāt permanently squash botting, if Blizz thinks who youāre reporting is legitimately a bot and they take action, then youāre at the very least inconvenincing a botter.

ahhā¦ iām so new to the zone, i have no idea what spores are.
i havenāt seen any action which looks like gathering bots.
thereās a bunch in Forbidden Reach thoughā¦ farming mobs, and fishing.
Its easy to spot. They fly the basic red starter dragonmount, all behave the same, all act in a pattern, its automated. To me its easy to see patterns and automationā¦
iām quite familiar with bot patternsā¦ iām just not seeing any here.
