It wasn’t. For leveilng it was a godsend that let players actually experience the content. At max it was end-game content for casuals. People who didn’t want to raid actually had something to do.
That’s what the anti-rdf posters (shockingly min/max elitist gatekeeping tryhards) will never understand. Also what Blizz doesn’t understand. You think someone like Ion has the slightest concept that to some people simply running heroic dungeons is all they want out of the game? It’s not a means to an end…it’s just the end for them. And that was taken out of Retail long ago. And now it’s been taken out of Wrath Classic as well.
Does Blizz think these Mythic dungeons appeal to such players? Of course not. It appeals to no one. Casuals who want to stomp dungeons aren’t going to do them, or put up with the INSANE gatekeeping that will exist without RDF. Hardcore players decked out in raid gear have no purpose. It has no audience.
These clowns running classic have no clue.
You can queue in lfg and wait for an invite. You can treat lfg just like rdf if you really wanted to.
And i am not forcing you. The game is designed with no rdf.
Yep they clearly have no clue what made wrath such a good expansion in the first place. It was an inclusive expansion and there was something for pretty much everyone at all levels of play. RDF certainly played a part in that by making dungeons more accessible.
Trying to make Wrath a raid or die expansion like retail is is the opposite of what it was about originally.
I know you’re trying to make RDF sound bad by saying what you said, but man that is much more appealing than what the current system offers. I’d love to farm badges to get heirlooms and gear pieces for alts, which is getting harder to do with the current system as more people raid-log or go on a break for the holidays.

It’s also complete BS. Anyone who cared about min maxxing was done with heroic badge farming before raids launched(which will also be a moot point going forward). And RDF never let you spam the good badge indefinitely anyways, you were always capped at 14 per week from heroics.
When ulduar launches the heroic daily gives the same emblems as ulduar.
Which will still be capped at 14 per week so A) both significantly less than you’ll get from raiding and B) something RDF doesn’t let you bypass anyways making the the whole herp derp you can spam heroics for infinite good badges BS.
Optional or not, still a better option than the current system
And what about alts? Should everyone have fully geared alts too before the end of the first month of xpac?
Also, people will need a way to run Heroic+ with alts to catch up with gear/alternative gear… Badge gear will help people get to Heroic+ too from leveling gear.
what a delusional take. ff14 already overtook wow lol. RDF is awesome in ff14. i made all my friends by joining a company and running dungeons with them using rdf to fill gaps. unlike wow, ff14 doesnt punish friends for trying to play with each other by putting in an arbitrary level gap requirement.

So? Thats 14 more per week and if it is tied to rdf, that forces people who want to gear quickly to use rdf.

Wrong. Theres a reason why you are responding to posts on WoW forums and not ff14. Because ff14 has rdf and its not as popular and as enjoyable as you say. Otherwise you wouldnt be here.
troll post. im not on ff14 cuz i beat the game. the last expansion ended the story and concluded with 2 extreme raids related to the story. Theres no reason for me to keep playing until maybe another expansion. Just like everyone is going to quit wraith classic as soon as they beat the lich king. Its ok to play more than 1 game and not live in just 1 game
Yeah, it changes it from doubting you’ll ever get a group to knowing you’ll be in a dungeon in 30 minutes or less.
