So can we finally admit that not having RDF killed Wrath Classic?

What social experience? Spamming LFG chat with “Looking for X, no Plate” for hours on end to get a group. Is this your “social experience”? Because that’s all I’ve seen since this stupid system got added. People still AFK in Dalaran spamming the channel. Then, once you get a group, no one talks except for “Hello” and “GG”. There is no social experience to preserve when it comes to Heroics.

Social experience is with guilds, the last bastion of that idea, and even then people are in Discord more than chatting in game.

Dont compare ff14 with wow classic. If ff14 doesnt have RDF it wouldve overtaken WoW by now. The reason why ff14 remains in second place as most played mmo is because it has rdf. Rdf is detrimental to the mmo experience. If you look at retail, it isnt even as popular as classic wrath release. Retail only good now because of new expac but after that people will get bored and flock back to classic because classic dont have rdf. Rdf makes the game boring to play its like playing idle clicker.

Whats keeping retail alive is m+ and m+ doesnt have rdf.

And ironically the LFG tool removes even that minimal semblance of “socialization” while being worse at actually forming groups than RDF.

yep.

I’ve not seen the do nothing types in retail. many many lfd runs.

generally we want this over faster. We are here for a calling (for sl). calling done in 7 minutes not 8? yes please. lets try for 6.5 even.

if someone is weak you peak the gear. fresh 60. I saw these and if my armour class traded gear not even asked. Didn’t need it, they needed it more than the I needed the 50 gold I’d get from it. here ya go…

or they are a pvp’er who is not top damage worthy of mythic runs. My hunters used the pvp lego. that had no dps boosts. it cleared up cc/debuff funk real nice.

So I did’t have the boosts to st or aoe the pve lego’s had. that dungeon was signed up for mixed in with BG. whatever pops first…wins. fine for heroics really. those not liking that…I didn’t make Mr/ms KSM or even KSH come to pug heroic. they know where LFG is. its how they got KSM/KSH lol.

This is just worst case scenario hyperbole, in the 1000’s of RDF and LFD runs I have done on the 15+ years I have been playing, no one just sits there and does nothing.

All the DPS want to flex for the DPS meters, all the Tanks see themselves as the leader of the group and put in 110% to flex for the group and all the healers are stumbling over each other to see who can heal someone first.

This whole belief that people slack off n RDF/LFD is just made up garbage that is not based on how people really play.

My example was based off Redheadchild’s performance in his raid group.

Him getting straight carried but he still cant see it.

If you have 2 hunters in your raid and 1 is averaging almost a 90 parse and the other hunter is averaging a 60 parse, wouldnt that be a red flag?

Oh, my bad there. Totally get it now.

My apologies, friends do not let friends get on the forums after too many Ciders.

I believe it did.

Some I sense are retail convert butthats from mythic who expect even normal leveling runs to go like a mythic 15 run 100% smooth. with classic no rdf…now they get it in the leveling dungeons too. that picky…they can lfg this. I am sure they can find 4 others who must be 100% perfect all the time lol.

this I have seen in retail. you all suck! you will all fail in mythic.

dude (not you ofc, some random mythic butthat in a run)…this a necrotic wake where highest level player is 54. Chill the hell out. No one is dying, we are not wiping. we are doing pretty damn good all in all.

I’ve had to say that way too many times to some players in lfd.

It absolutely without a single doubt is the social experience. That pain you feel when you’re looking for a group, to alleviate it you will find guildmates, build relationships, or quit. And by this process a filter pushes people out who do not want to build relationships with other players and the ones who remain may find people who they will play with for the next decade.

Yes, that is the social experience. Friction encourages players to form relationships to alleviate that friction.

There’s enough friction for you to complain about this on the forums. I’d say this is working as intended socially.

No it isn’t. Your post is ridiculous. You’re basically saying that if there were no LFG no one would make friends. LFG is not the Tinder of WoW.

Never did. Unless they remove rdf.

Mmos without rdf tend to be more succesful because big part of people playing mmos do not like it.

WoW is a social network and LFG is the antithesis of social experience. This is a settled issue and has been for years. You cannot argue that LFG is good for the social aspect of the game. Its purpose is to distribute loot. Period. And your loot is not more important than preserving the social aspect of the game.

This isn’t up for discussion. You are wrong. And not only are you wrong, you are wrong in the most extreme sense.

You can be upset about not having LFG. That’s fine. But you don’t get to say LFG is fine for the social aspect of the game when it’s clearly not.

I think you mean was LFG. And no that’s not what I’m saying.

Retail died from 1000 cuts. LFG was one such cut.

Okay so which is it?

This…is what confuses me.

when on atiesh its /4 had the chat police.

this is not general chat channel. Use this to find groups and that is it.

okay…

went to grobb. some police, not as bad. but that if not gdkp or tanks charging 50g…was layer requests. What layer has towers ready to go?

can I get an invite to 3 please.

dudes weren’t even being social with the layer the game gave them. and as soon as invited to layer 3 would drop the link to the person who phased them in.

None of my posts are contradictory. What don’t you understand?

This is pretty much what I was saying.

Uhhh…

If Facebook removes the ability to have more than 5 friends this doesn’t make Facebook NOT a social network. It just makes the social network worse. I don’t understand what you’re not getting.

Just because retail has LFG doesn’t automatically not make it a social network. It is. It’s just a worse social network than a version of wow without LFG.

LFG removes the need to form relationships with other people to make it easier to find consistent groups.

There is a misconception out there that people think they are the only ones that want to consistently do heroics. This is false. There are people out there just like you that will play with you.

Find. Them.

That’s your job as a player.
