It is a big deal. When you can’t say: Pushing/Complete, Need Lock, Need Heal/DPS, Need BR/Lust, Need Venthyr, AOTC only, “Checking IO”, “Flawless”, or “2-3-9” you don’t get the right people signing up, then you wait or never form the group you need.

I want to be able to have the automatically approved text “chill completion run” so people know what the run is about going into it.

Because it becomes a game of whack-a-mole.

Ban garbage accts? they make 10 more every time you ban 1
Block WTS from being listed? Its now W T S, or WT$, or any other number of combos to avoid it.

Eventually a more long term solution needs to be implemented. This is what they came up with.

Go list your RP in Custom like we all do.

They could just as easily given us a custom filter, where we can filter out posts with WTS, and add any new ones we come across. They decided instead to screw over the entire player base for a minor nuisance.

I don’t agree with the solution.

I mean it’s not that hard to believe that someone has played as long as I have would have made some moves with characters over that period of time but some people have their own dystopia of how things work in their minds.

You aren’t screwed over.

  • it ONLY affects custom text for Dungeon, Raid, PVP listings
  • you can still join groups in those categories without an authenticator
  • you can still create groups in those categories without an authenticator

You just listed virtually ALL group content, apart from Torghast and World Bosses, in the game. We use custom text for every one of them.

Yes. I also do dungeons, raids and pvp with those friends. I know that’s hard to believe, but it happens.

Wrong. You can make a group to do whatever you want in Custom with whatever text you want.

  1. You don’t have to.
  2. You still can. It’s called “use the Custom tab.”

I’m going to reiterate this one last time…

  • it ONLY affects custom text for Dungeon, Raid, PVP listings (your key, raid and PvP will be an auto generated title without an authenticator so there’s still titles)
  • you can still join groups in those categories without an authenticator
  • you can still create groups in those categories without an authenticator
  • you can still create custom text in the Custom group category

You have this rosy picture of queues being the same, but without the run sellers. It will impact participation in all group content. Mark my words. For large servers, you will probably be fine. For small servers like mine, people can wait 30 minutes for a tank or 20 mins for a healer just for 15 key. For other keys, it can be longer.

It takes a lot of work to cultivate interest in M+ for my new guild members. There are a dozen factors that discourage them from trying. This is just one more thing. Bliz really has no clue how to tend to its players.

I swear to god it’s just like arguing with some of the patients that come into my urgent care about masks. Everyone is their own special case as to why they can’t wear them. When its not that big of deal to just put them on.

It’s not that difficult to add an authenticator, and if you choose not to you aren’t being inhibited from doing anything in game. Its so much whining over something so small and simple.

You can still see your friends in groups and join them in the social tab to.

Or directly invite each other. I’m a bit confused at this person’s complaint. Are they making a group titled “CATS ARE THE BEST” and telling their friends to…search for that group to join it instead of just directly inviting them?

And you can still make that group as pointed out in some categories.
