I would 100% be ok with that and that is coming from someone who has sat at lvl 58 for 2 weeks with all 5 profs on this character max. Also having 2 alts high levels as well. Why the rush, playing an alt doesn’t sour my experience how ever advancing to quick will sour the experience of many. When later content hits, ppl will not be running older content which means slower levelers will miss out on the enjoyment of that content. Now would I also be ok with a happy medium? Sure. Maybe go the middle road and release content at half its original rate.
I don’t think that they are releasing Phase 2 earlier than they originally planned. I think phase 2 will actually come out later than blizzard had scheduled. Phase 1 was only supposed to be a couple months.
Due to the popularity of the game and the mega servers, phase 2 is coming out later than intended.
Dire Maul is just a 1.5 patch to keep things entertaining for the people who have been at max level for a while now.
Phase 2 isn’t out yet… It wont be for a while.
If anything this is a good think rather than 6 phases we might see something that resembles Vanilla release schedule with 10-12 smaller releases.
“When later content hits, ppl will not be running older content”
That’s flat out wrong, all content was run at all times throughout vanilla’s life, just because naxx is out doesn’t mean people aren’t running strat or dm or mc or hell even that there won’t be 20s running bfd
It really doesn’t. It’s just a different life.
I mean, dude isn’t old enough to matter much to society, and if he’s in the gym… he’s not really doing anything more important than my daily walks.
But I question the views of anybody who belongs to “Poon Palace”
If you’re talking about previous tiers of raids you’re flat out wrong. If you’re referring to leveling content then I guess you’re right, but that’s because every character only has to run through the questing zones once. Fresh 60’s will also always be running BRD, DM, Sunken, Strath, Scholo, and U/LBRS for gear which give lower level players plenty of opportunities to experience dungeon content.
That’s not what I said at all. I’m responding to the OP’s original request to slow down content phasing even further. The current phasing plan should line up with vanilla’s patch cycle properly, and it should remain this way.
Yes the current plan should be adhered to but blizzard is already changing it with dire maul arent they?
nothing stop you from playing the game. This update was just to add one more dungeon to the game that was already suppose to be released when classic came out. Its not a big deal at all.
Not really a decision I agree with.
But with MC being toned down because of patches all the way up to 1.12, talent reworks up to 1.12, and debuff limits increased to 16 instead of 8, it has really trivialized MC content.
In that sense I understand why they released DM so early. The gear won’t be relevant for very long because people are full clearing MC already, when on live it wasn’t until almost 4 months after release that someone downed Ragnaros.
DM is just another dungeon, it doesn’t invalidate anything you had previously.
You’ll still get to do the content. It’s not a limited time thing.
There will still be people playing them.
The thing is, a lot of people leveled fast enough to get ahead of the crowds, and slow enough to be behind the zoomers, simply because we wanted to avoid traffic jams at each new hub.
Why should we dance on mailboxes for months, and then deal with massive crowds, simply because you like seeing other players fighting for mobs?
I agree Dire Maul has zero affect on the game, releasing other raids would how ever. As you said, MC is trivial, the reason to run it is purely for the experience and to say “me and my guild did it as a team” and it feels good for those who never got the chance in the day. Soon as later raids are released, MC will be long forgotten. Any one who says “No, PeOpLe WiLl StILl RuN MC” are delusional.
In fact they will, people will run MC pretty much forever in order to get the bindings for Thunderfury. Also there’s a lot of good loot from rag and domo that are BiS till phase 5.
A lot of you are comparing this Classic to Vanilla, we only have 2 million players in total. Back then we had 1.5 at first then went to 6 million. So yes there was more players to play with at lower levels.
2 millions players divided up by Faction and then divided again by Servers we are no where near enough players.

Whatever you need to tell yourself my dude
I’d say speed up content! Who cares if bwl/AQ/naxx is out and you’re not 60? It’s the inevitable future, my as well accept it now. I know I did, 60 by xmas is my goal!
Also yes MC will always be run even with naxx out. People have alts, Alts need gear. There will always be Alts.
This is absurd and untrue. Please show me evidence that people are pressuring Blizzard into releasing P2 early.
Tf is bis all the way through Kara in tbc, people run it as long as classic servers exist, and by extension bwl
2 things.
Why else would they go against their own established timeline if someone didnt pressure them into it?
- Have you not seen all the streamers hit hit 60 in a week and were insisting new content come out?
They never established any timeline. But the reason they released DM ahead of P2 it is very obvious. They have internal metrics on how much time people spend logged in, in aggregate. They saw the logged in time start to decline so they decided to release DM ahead of P2 to reverse the trend.
No I have not. Would you care to point them out to me? Ive seen some streamers have opinions on things, but not an “insistance” that they release anything early.
Maybe you should take off the tinfoil hat and calm down on the hyperbole.
