hes not wrong, switching to mistweaver even if your main is 3000+io your not getting into some keys
Agreed, but to be fair, it was specifically killed by players who are gaming this horrible system that Blizzard set up for SL.
I didn’t say he was though. I just wasn’t talking about class balance. So was weird to bring it up is all. I agree that certain specs need love.

It doesn’t ban you for being elite. It bans you for being an a-hole about it. Being elite is not the same as being elitist.
Mythic+, especially 1 per week, is the most efficient source of strong gear in the game.
30-40 minutes for a very high, up to 226, item per week.
I wouldn’t say it’s the most efficient, but it’s certainly the easiest. Particularly early in the tier when most of this somewhat matters.
30 minutes for a guaranteed 226 is pretty efficient use of time.
And that’s on top of it being easy and accessible relative to the raid and PvP sources of 226 gear.
Its also the easiest way to gear alts obvs if you have ksm which ar this point in time is not some insane difficult achievement to get
True, but it stops there. You are hardcapped at 1 piece per week. If you’re in a good raiding guild, that’s multiple attempts per week at more pieces.
I think though we’re splitting hairs here. It will be more efficient for some people, and less efficient for others.
The best really is to partake in all forms of content and use each to bolster each other.
Absolutely, the time:reward payoff falls off after the 1st key of the week.
Doing all forums of content is the best for sure.
It seems many raid teams though extend relatively early though and don’t see many drops from raiding.
I wonder if the ability to gear through mythic+ is part of the reason why guilds can extend earlier? Since you aren’t fully sacrificing your gear upgrades to do it.
Anyway, that wasn’t really the point of this thread.
Maybe it’s different for alliance, but there’s tons of pugs going on, regardless of the affixes.
I can say that there were tons of pugs this past week and even on non ideal weeks. I was able to pug an extra 130 io this week, so close to 2k. Not sure if I will get it before 9.1 though. Generally, it has been sparse with high keys, but not 15 and under.
give an example.
The biggest problem with m+ is people obsessing over being meta to do a 15. Uncapped aoe being changed was omega cringe but how many times is a pug doing a pull of more than 5 mobs?
Second problem is there are too many melee specs in a game that is trivialized by merely being ranged. Melee classes used to bring unique buffs, but why would I ever bring any melee class instead of any other ranged class? There’s no reason.
Melee still has some specs and classes that bring unique buffs, but it’s normally not enough to warrant not just bringing another range.
And really the game has always been this way unless a melee is so stupid broken OP (see fury warriors in classic). TBC classic is launching today and why bring melee there when you can just bring more hunters and casters?
Monks - 5% physical dmg, ring of peace
Demon hunter - 5% magic dmg, darkness
Warrior - attack power, health buff shout
Enhance - Windfury Totem
Death knights - anti-magic zone
Rogue - shroud. Also amazing at solo
soaking, but that requires fights to need soaks.
Feral and survival could use something to make them stand out compared to their ranged counterparts.
All melee bring better interrupts as well except ele shaman.
And it’s really a PUG problem more than anything else.
The biggest problem with M+ is that too many people insist on pugging it.
Then they come and complain about their own decision, afterwards.
Yeah I think melee is plenty useful. You get the faster kick too. I feel like the meta stuff has lightened up a lot. I’ve been in some very unusual comps over the last couple months.
I did a 13 a few weeks ago (low, I know) with:
Brewmaster
Holy priest
Survival hunter
Enhance shaman
Demo lock
And it went perfectly fine.
