SL killed M+ by max'ing leetism

Less than 20% of all players have KSM. Your viewpoint doesn’t coincide with data.

20% is a lot of players, given that many just pvp or raid and aren’t interested in M+.

yikes. who would want to play a game that bans you for being better than everyone else?

M+ is a cookbook! It’s a cookbook!!!

Elite =/= elitist

Large difference there.

elitist are usually elite
it sounds like FF bans people for being good at it

terrible if true

Ironically… this usually isn’t the case. The most elitist players I’ve met are usually AotC 1-3/10M players. They’re good enough to know the basics of how to be good and that tiny amount of knowledge lets them feel superior to those beneath them. And sorry but… AotC and 1-3/10M… isn’t elite. Not even close. It’s good sure… but not even close to elite. Heck I’ve gotten CE multiple times now and I don’t consider myself elite. To me elite is R1 gladiator, on the front page of R.IO, or HoF CE.

The people who are actually elite? Sure there are a few elitist, but the vast majority of them simply aren’t even thinking about the rest of the playerbase. They’re here to have fun and push bosses. That’s it.

Not to mention the fact that the vast majority of the guides are all written by… hardcore players. Elitists… don’t write guides to help players they consider beneath them.

Because we are competing for that spot when we both sign up for a key.

I adore my collection of tinfoil chapeaus! I have one that looks like a little sail boat and another in the shaped like the Parthenon.

There’s some truth to what you’re saying.

The way m+ is designed currently, there’s value for people with high io/gear farming +14/15s to fill out the vault.

I stopped pushing keys months ago when I hit 1800, and have been doing (for the most part) 14/15 keys for vault since then.

There’s also value for people with good gear to farm low keys to get quick/easy valor. if someone is 226 and wants to farm a trinket from plageufall, they can spam low keys to get as many attempts at the trinket as fast as possible, then spam low keys to get fast valor to upgrade it.

There’s no reason, if all you’re doing is farming valor, to do higher keys, because it takes longer.

When they announced the valor system, people predicted this would happen, since all key levels drop the same amount of valor. What they should have done was make valor rewards scale with key level, and increase the amount of valor required as you rank up an item to compensate.

all of that said, you also have the alliance factor going on. you’re gonna have less groups, because there are less end-game players. make some friends. it helps.

Not everything is about material rewards. A lot of players enjoy M+ for the sake of pushing their limits or being competitive with IO score.

m+ was made with titanforging in mind without it, it just feels bad… there is no anticipation to the end of run chest its just garbo low ilvl gear even with the valor 220 cap, titanforging should have never been removed and just iterated upon, removing it created more problems than it solved. They literally had to create the new pvp gearing, emergency patch the valor system in to save m+,rebuff loot from raids, emergency nerf raid and m+ content(since without forging we cant pasivly outgear content anymore) and casual ppl are just left in the dust all that just because of the removal of one system titanforging

So what? Push your own key if you’re not competitively geared.

I’m only 221ilvl and something like 1450io, do I get upset when people 225il with 1800io apply? No, because that’s just how it is.

Push your own key, invite some of the big io fellas who are farming valor and get your own ksm.

Taking away the ability for my alts to gear when I met the criteria for the achiv is like banning mythic raiders in m+

“I haven’t done mythic raiding, so they have an unfair advantage in ilvl over me, they shouldn’t be allowed to apply for mythic plus in mythic raid gear, because that’s unfair”

That’s what you sound like.

You say this like 220 and 226 will be life changing. It’s not.

Didn’t M+ start in legion? I don’t recall having titan forging that back then.

Also, when forming your own group you’ll soon learn to stop taking alts with low io scores tied to high score io players.

Man, it’s amazing how bad good players can become when playing alts!

No. You asked how your alt gearing affects me. I answered specifically that. The rest of that, you’re putting words in my mouth. Moreover, “run your own key” is not the answer you seem to think it is. We need all 8 dungeons at any given benchmark for unlocking achievements and using our valor. “Run your own key” means you will be missing the specific dungeons you need the majority of the time. That would make it take exponentially longer to achieve the same thing. Not saying you shouldn’t run your own keys, but, you are going to have to supplement that if you plan to hit 8x5, 8x10 or 8x15 with any efficiency. “Run your own key” is a completely disingenuous argument as a “solution” to the problems mentioned.

yes it is a big deal its probably like 5-8% damage depending on the class, now add that up for a whole group, not counting stamina that you actually need to survive stuff on keys over +20

Yep titanforging was in legion

Yes and for the mass majority of the player base is insignificant. M+ keys are by large not being depleted due to 5% lower dps, its from wipes and deaths.

In an infinitely scaling system gear will obviously be, at some point, out scaled. If 220 was the max, people would still be pushing +25s.

The M+ system in SL was designed and scaled for +15, we have to keep that in mind. 220 is more than sufficient for it.

Oh I seriously don’t remember that lol. I only played the launch patch I think. Skipped MoP, WoD, and BFA.

This has actually increased pugs. You’re getting a lot more overqualified people joining lower keys trying to farm specific items

1 in 5 is not “a lot”.
