Indeed pathfinder as a gating mechanism is no longer valid especially in TWW. This is why the act of leaving pf at this point is seen by the majority of the WoW community a bad look for WoW when it is supposed to be promoting accessibility and inclusiveness for all gamers.
Each gamer plays at a different pace so I see no reason to make fun of the disabled players if they want or prefer TBC normal flying. I even prefer TBC normal flying and I am not disabled. Interesting that different people play the game differently. How interesting indeed!
It’s actually cause I’m bad at block quoting on mobile lol. But thanks for grabbing the entirety of that post for me.
Have you considered that they may have nerve damage that makes repetitive motions difficult or painful beyond a certain point? She plays a BM Hunter, the most right click and afk dps class, probably for a reason. Regardless of what alternatives are available, a system as embedded as sky-riding isn’t viable. If pathfinder was still there to unlock flying in general, it’s a universal thing we all have to engage with. Locking only regular flying behind an achievement is inherently accidentally discriminatory.
If thats the case, how is me giving them better buttons to hit a negative?
Bad joints yet they are hitting x and spacebar and apparently more than 2 buttons.
If you can dps, you can skyride. It uses the same hotbar. Made even easier if you change certain binds to your mouse.
And the fact the same complaining has been happening by the same person since AUGUST. They do not care about finding a solution to the problem and just wants the game to conform to them. Thus the entire point of my post.
He’s said it multiple times. It’s literally to bump the post and bring awareness to the issue. You guys are the ones trying to make it an argument.
Simply put, either pathfinder locks all flying (which a majority of players disliked), or by locking just regular flying, they’re unintentionally discriminating against people that have any number of conditions that make skyriding, the BY DESIGN MORE ACTIVELY ENGAGED FORM OF FLYING, more difficult.
Not making it an argument. Pointing out disengenuous posting.
Its their game, their choice.
And lets be honest. This is such a massive first world problem. There are many number of bind combinations that make skyriding astronomically easier.
99% of my skyriding is done with my left hand only.
I can mount, dismount, auto run, lift off, surge without ever touching my keyboard.
Worst case, you ground mount for a few hours to unlock the achievement. Or ask for someone to taxi you around.
But again, thats looking for a solution vs screaming to the heavens how unfair something is for 5 months.
Like you want to fuss this much? Bring back wod pathfinder
Imo its also telling that THIS is the topic they’ve chosen to die on. Not better colorblind options for mechanics. Because the options still aren’t good enough for many.
Friend of mine literally had to sit out fights because they flat couldn’t see mechanics and would die every time.
Or how involved some mechanics are and how some struggle because of their hand mobility problems. So some fights are almost impossible for them.
But no. We want to focus on something that has a solution its just not the one they want and its also not as intrusive as say… being colorblind. cough ground mounts cough
Thats such a wild accusation
Literally ignored me pointing out more glaring problems just to shame me.
Its not going to work. I have a number of health conditions including a heart defect, and I was paralyzed for a time. So this white knighting nonsense you are doing isn’t going to work on me.
You can ground ride for a few hours. You’ll be fine. That’s reasonable. You don’t have to wait a year+ anymore to get flight unlocked.
Because Some of them used disable players here as pawns to get what they want and some who are disabled like used their disability in bad faith. Today for example, I was way behind with my work and I had asked for help. My manager tried to ask one my coworker who is disable but capable of lending me a hand and he just refused, threw a fit and used his disability as excuses to avoiding to do that task. Sadly I had do all the work and tried to make pick up the pace that lend me into exhaustion. I had work some coworkers who have some disability in the past that had helped me with my work when I needed it.
there are people with disability are ok with pathfinder so long they get to fly normally on d ay one and already they put in the work, and there also are folks who willing to lend a hand to help them when they need it. Maybe Midnight expansion will be different, but I have my doubts and will be probably be back on squared one.
Or, there are disabled people who play the game in a casual manner, would like to be able to right click their way through world content and don’t need to push it past that, and these limitations are discouraging to their engagement.
But then again, there’s a number of people on these forums who are content with pushing people away from the game because a marginal change is too much to accept for some reason.
Problem with that argument , the forums represent a very tiny vocal community and it can be hit or miss at times. I don’t think this is a key issue for Blizzard at all, Pathfinder has been around almost ten years now and most of us had accepted it and had adapt to the change. Its not all impossible to finish PF on ground alone and there people who done it who hates Skyriding it just slow and steady that wins the race.
When this was actually a hot topic back in august/September, people actually only rode ground mounts just to prove it was doable.
I believe it only added maybe an extra hour onto leveling?
And even better, you don’t have to be 80. They were getting it at 77.
This is factually untrue as complaints against flying being steadily locked behind pathfinder led to flying being available all the time. The regular flying lock is a phenomenon exclusive to TWW.
