Skyriding is too hard for disabled gamers

A good reason for them to not use skyriding, which has been an option the entire expansion. If you made this claim last expansion, sure, there’d be a point. This expansion? You can unlock steady flight in less than a day without using a single flying mount.

I don’t particularly care if you feel singled out. Nobody is being singled out which is the extent of what Blizzard can do.

No one is being singled out, everyone has the same set of rules and options to play the game by, its left up to the player as to how they engage the game. If they choose to not use some tools at their disposal for this reason or that, its the players choice of doing so. Not Blizzards fault, specially when it all leads to the same things getting completed at the end of the road, it just might take some a bit longer than others to complete it. That is pretty much the same in every single game out there.

Like you going out of your way to be offended by disabled veterans throwing their experiences with having difficulty in-game? Yeah, you’re right. So fun.

That’s not what was being talked about and you know it.

See? Going out of your way to be offended.

In the Arathi and Spider areas. Forget the map names, but there are quests there. You may not have come across them. But doesn’t mean they are. Also, you may reach 80 before getting to these quests, and able to change your skyriding form. Doesn’t mean others don’t and have the skyriding trouble you don’t have, and they do.

Also, from the what I can remember if you don’t do the skyriding quest - which are campaign quest(s) (which I did with some rest and perseverance/forbeance - from the Lord) it phases other quests.
Another reason that this topic of discussion is important, then not put in the wastebucket like some people who have no idea about disabilities and the different levels that people can have them. Then what these can have on them playing on the game.

TWW maps are designed with three dimensional movement which is why the concept of pathfinder gating TBC normal flying falls flat fast.

Entirely able to complete those areas on the ground or using a taxi service provided. If you can’t point to the specific quest that is impossible there’s nothing else to be said than to repeat that the entire campaign to unlock steady flight is doable grounded or using the provided services.

Also, skyriding doesn’t require level 80. It’s the 4 zone exploration achievements, and completing the campaign through Uniting Severed Threads, which is the final quest for the Azj-Kahet achievement.

You took me out of context. To use and get the other form you need pathfinder. Which you do need. And which is the point of this in part of this topic. Skyriding is hard the overall majority of times, and even in that takes more time than a normal quest would ‘than a normal gamer’ which is the point of ‘making a fair and equitable game for all’ - Blizzard’s own words.

Resulting in their disability assistant parts, for gamers. But there is no help if you have dexterity issues or tired issues just to name two just to name two, if you have them, among many others. That effect (no I am not talking how normal players get affected) players with disabilities.

Also, some players have said that my writing doesn’t make sense. Well it does to me. Because sometimes I write head to implementation (where the writing goes). The important thing is the content in the paragraph and even if does jump like rapids sometimes, there is still a sort of flow and connection to the topic and through it.

Even if you are not making a lot of sense of how people why people want the disability things here, now and not know how they manage or why they want these things in game. By the end seeing so many of them, you may through a little crack. See how they do it and understand how hard that actually can be in games, much as in their real lives.

True but you brought it up so it is fair game to discuss now.

Its not because people continually twist the meaning to be disengenuous.

So what exactly is up for discussion?
You needlessly bumping a dead topic
People reading what they want to in whats being said, adding their own context and intent and taking offense?
People weaponizing handicaps to push their agenda?

The discussion is about skyriding is difficult for disabled gamers. I hope this helps you! We are positive WoW gamers and we help each other out.

I mean it was, but as usual with these posts. You turn it into a weird bumping thing acting like you are pro handicap people. When in reality you spam.

False positivey is not advocating.

If that’s the topic, let’s make this easy:

If skyriding is uncomfortable, painful, or you don’t like it, simply don’t use it. It is not required in any way.

Getting past the pathfinder block to steady flying is a problem put there by blizzard. Skyriding is hard for me due to my nerve issues, but through by now years of perseverance I can do it, albeit not well. I prefer steady riding, and use that instead whenever possible or practical.

Pathfinder needs to go away, and not come back. I do not want to see any roadblocks for any mode of transportation in this game. I do not want anyone to pay gold to fly in any form, either. I think we should all have access to whatever modes of transportation, and that access should be equal.

I am a disabled gamer and I do not feel like I have been used as a tool or bludgeoned by Mafic. To me it seems like he has been nothing but an ally to the disabled in advocating for a small change that would make a big difference to those who need it.

A personal note is below that has nothing to do with the topic, but may give some an insight into the life of a disabled gamer.

Today I was complimented by my son for my ability to get into the car by myself, and walk unassisted for 30-40 feet. That is a huge step forward for me, and has come from me trying to work on myself.* Not all disabled players are as lucky as me, tho. Remember, you never know if you are going to go to bed in the same state you woke up as. Disability can strike out of the blue, suddenly, and with devastating results. I wish it on nobody, but statistically it is going to come for some of you reading my words.

(*) And this was after he had to help me on with my shoes and cuff my pants. And I was proud of myself that I was able to not fall on the other person in my doctor’s office today, even though I lost my balance. I am just glad that I can walk, despite the nerve damage. I can no longer dance or keep the beat/rhythm, but dang it, I am alive and I can walk.

Nice. Quote me out of context.

Ignoring me telling them how to make it easier.
Also ignoring how WE’VE been telling them how to make it easier since August.

You aren’t even trying to hide your disengenuous intent lol.
False outrage and a failing attempt to make me look like a bully.

Yeah people were nicely sharing stories about how they have their current disabilities and then you have others being not so nice. But all the more reason to remove PF so some people in the WoW community will lose the ability to make fun of the disabled in WoW due to pathfinder gate. I see it as a big win by removing pf gate.

Thank you for your time.

Not allowing people to old school fly at the start of expansion is not the solution to spreading the very little content that we get every patch.

The reason why people run out of content is the by product of the community demands. In the past we had WQ resetting every four hours. Rep wasn’t account bound. There was mission tables too. However, people complained about not being able to “finish” their toons. So Blizz change most stuff to be a weekly lockout. That’s why people stop playing.
