Well that’s a first.
It is not about superiority and never has been. TBC normal flying is a tool like a glider or teleport and has its purpose like DR. Trying to assume one is superior or another is missing the point.
Ports are faster than dragon riding and TBC normal flying. They could put ports in place of flight points but is that what everyone would want? Probably not.
I don’t find skyriding superior at all. It takes forever to launch in the air. Ascending upwards is also slow. After a few intial bursts your power is gone. The sudden halt ability stll makes it so you have to circle slowly down to get to your target area, often missing it by several yards. Yes I have the additional three power ups that were added late in dragonflight. I am still stuck on the ground trying to regain vigor often. In pvp especially it sucks, and in gathering it kinda sucks too.
I just think theres a recency bias for skyriding. Steady flight is more useful (for me) especially for hovering, in most situations.
So you admit the premise of your first post was a lie. Interdasting.
Yeah it wasn’t unreasonable to be honest. People auto flagging threads has reached a silly point.
If people do not want to discuss that is fine move onto another topic.
But we’re not talking about it as a tool. If that was the point of contention here, then we wouldn’t even be having this discussion because it still exists in the game.
No you are missing the point.
Each person uses the tools differently based on what they can do. I can create mouse over macro for Rogue Blind but not everyone can do that. Maybe they can keybind at the very least.
Everyone is different.
Cries for disabled accessibility being met with snap-judgement bans from forum mods. This is the actual reality of blizzard “customer service”.
Whatever fuels your hate I guess.
what’s the point of making a fuss about putting someone on ignore if you keep responding to them…
For most people, it’s considerably faster and easier to Skyride compared to steady flight. I don’t know how steady flight makes the campaign easier to clear. The developers are practically begging us to power through the campaign to reach endgame content by granting us Skyriding right out of the gate.
I’m leery of using “best” when it comes to subjective experiences. Since this is a game, what’s best is most probably linked to what’s considered fun, though. That too is subjective. Ground mounts are fun for some people, but they aren’t fun for others. Everyone plays the game with different values and different ideas of what’s fun in mind. IMO, no amount of forcing players who enjoy endgame activities exclusively to enjoy the journey so to speak is going to work. Just totally different types of players, and neither are wrong either.
What an odd assumption.
I only mean that if we cater to every individual with every specific need or restrictions it makes for incredibly bland and hollow content.
But some people apparently like that, to each there own.
Even though it’s entirely possible to unlock normal flying without flying
I wouldn’t mind if they removed the requirements, doesn’t really matter
That is a fair observation to be honest.
This thread is about adding steady flight at the same time as Skyriding, not about catering to every single disability out there, which impossible. The food I ate at an ADA-compliant restaurant last night wasn’t bland, and by the same token your gaming experience isn’t likely be impacted seriously by adding steady flight at the same time as Skyriding.
Pretty much. It’s kinda funny, really. I see more crying from people who are against the idea of being inclusive and/or helpful toward those with disabilities than those would actually be affected by such a change. It seems those people lack any sort of self-awareness.
The OP is making the claim that they physically cannot unlock steady flight because of skyriding though, which isn’t the case. I don’t think it’d have a major impact but to claim that someone cannot unlock pathfinder while grounded is disingenuous.
There is also this, yeah. It’s entirely doable. Is the restriction arbitrary? Yeah, I feel that it is, but it’s not entirely unreasonable.
Or misinformed.
I just don’t get it. Blizzard is a corporation, not a friend or a family member. It’s not a relationship, there is no need to white knight or defend their vision for how the game “should” be played at all costs. It’s just a game.
