It is fun! At first, or when I want to do it. Just wish it wasn’t default. Ignore the guys strawmanning that I want it removed from the game etc. I just wish it wasn’t default.
At the very least I would like my setting to be remembered, instead of having to repeatedly turn it off.
Very valid complaint. I am displeased by this on your behalf. I know some people struggle with skyriding and prefer not to use it.
I unlocked Pathfinder on the 3rd day of Early Access. I only use Skyriding if I need to get completely across the zone in a hurry for an event. Otherwise, I use Steady Flight 24/7, including down the Coreway and into the Ringing Deeps.

More like “find it annoying”, off-brand, even kinda childish/mobile gamey if that makes sense. Clunky at best! But that shouldn’t be confused with “struggling” in a skill sense the way you would struggle to down a healer, or to fend off a rogue. That is what I think of when I think of “skill” not flying a mount…

Why would I want to use the slow trashcan flying instead of skyriding which looks and feels just better AND is 2x faster?
How is swimming through air less “clunky” than the gliding system? If you’re having trouble figuring out what those dang buttons do, just read a guide or experiment with them like a normal person.

Which again is a stupid concept to begin with. I mean sure I started playing in BFA, and even then it was a stupid concept. I don’t think I got pathfinding until BFA was over with in Shadowlands before it became legacy flying. Shadowlands I got at the end, and Dragonflight towards the end too. Will probably get TWW at the tailend as well.

This take is basically that “more realistic is better” but if that were the case, why not make the player’s animations complete instead of canceling when I change directions, cancel a spell cast, etc.? There is 0 delay, the animation totally cancels.
With flying mounts it’s the same thing. What you call “swimming through air” I would demote even further to just “moving along an axis” - it’s not realistic at all (to your point) but counter to your overall argument being more realistic does not make for better system design. The system design aspect, the feel of WoW is one of its greatest strengths as a game.
Seems to be a skill issue. Feel free to attack any of my achievements if you want tho

I like and enjoy skyriding. However i see why others would not. I also see no reason for Pathfinder being needed to unlock normal flying. People who like skyriding will almost never use normal flying anyway, beyond needing a bit of precision control or whatever.
If one form of flying is available from the start, both should be available. No need to unlock one or the other. Just let people choose how they want to fly from the get go

Regular/standard flying style for farming (sometimes). Skyriding for everything else.

You can just choose not to use it, I’ve been using old flying since the moment it became an option again this expansion and have not used skyriding since with no noticeable issues. The zones seem better as well using regular flying as you feel the scale of them better.

This post was flagged and hidden? Haha why? For the record I never asked for the feature to be “removed from the game” that was a strawman post that for some reason got upvoted a lot (while all the logical posts that make sense get no votes lol ok Reddit). Some guy just made that up.
All I said is I didn’t want it to be the default, or that it should at least remember my setting. How is it “trolling”? Other people literally trolled me here, but are upvoted. Whatever
Why are you trying to call out peoples arena ratings?
And yes, even arena achievements are account wide.
