It will be gated behind some kinda grind im sure of it.

uhā€¦ rightā€¦
anyways
no confirmation to be found, as per my last comment that has you in a tizzy.
Title is misleading.

Hardly in a tizzy  Am literally doing pet battles as I respond to your trolling.

Donā€™t mind a flightless zone as long as the zone isnā€™t annoying to traverse while grounded. Like annoying trash mobs every 10 feet you have to wade through. Or like that one area in Suramar on that road where your mount would get stuck on a twig on the road lol. Will probably end up ignoring the zone altogether if itā€™s much like Forbidden reach. Tossing a bunch of reskinned elite mobs in a zone and calling them rares when the only thing rare about them is what they drop isnā€™t exactly what to call an exciting patch.

Cool story. If I go to anywhere in the game, I will find people there most likely - as long as thereā€™s an activity, there will be people there nowā€™aā€™days.

Thatā€™s not at all what I said about Mechagon though. During current content, folks did their Mechagon dailiesā€¦ and then left. Hilariously, your anecdote actually backs that up as well! Why are folks there? Farming old stuff. They arenā€™t there because of the zone, they are there because of rewards - nothing more. Which is to be understandable, it ainā€™t current content anymore, but folks arenā€™t there enjoying the gadgets which folks, prior to flying being made available, did.

Good thing mine are, whilst yours is a weird anecdote that doesnā€™t say anything except eluding towards my statement being correct.

Most game designers, road builders, and infrastructure researchers.
To understand why this is a problem, replace flying with ā€œcarā€ and you get the gist. The same issue of induced demand exists in WoW whichā€¦

ā€¦ you even prove by saying this.
Sorry mate but, no ā€¦ you are just plain olā€™ wrong, and this has been explained enough times where I donā€™t care to explain why and how flying is awful for the game. Especially since most folks are too lazy to even watch a 3 or 5 minute video explaining induced demand and then understand how that translates to WoW.

So if you want to dispute this, start by proving you understand induced demand because otherwiseā€¦ I donā€™t care to explain this again when most folks will just ignore it.

Duh. There was still more stuff to do. This new isle will be no different.

If it was ā€œso awfulā€ for the game, why does it exist in almost every possible corner of every expansion. Oh thatā€™s right! Those of us who prefer flying remained subbed at all times, unlike some end game folks who unsub and come back next season. If flying were ACTUALLY bad for the game, the only place we would be allowed to fly to this day would be Outland, since you could not put that genie back in the bottle.

As for everywhere else:

  • We had 2 types of flight in Wrath
  • Flight out of the gate in Cata
  • Two types of flying in Pandaland
  • Flying reinstated with pathfinder in WoD
  • Pathfinder and our own flying mounts at FPs in Legion
  • Pathfinder in BfA
  • Pathfinder in SL
  • Dragon riding right out the gate in DF with a Pathfinder
  • Skyriding immediately out the gate with Pathfinder
  • Every major Epic Edition using flying mounts as rewards
  • Flying mounts as incentive to sub for 12 months
  • Flying mounts as rewards for M+, Heroic, and Mythic raiding
  • Flying mounts in the shop
  • World holiday and event flying mounts
  • Use of gadgets like Jetpacks and Goblin Gliders (technically not steady flight)

And the list goes on and on. Itā€™s called supply and demand and ā€œinducedā€ demand applies to ground mounts since there will be plenty of people on the ground. While I am fine with ground only zones, I will never be dumb enough to think flying was bad for this game. If anything, the constant hunt for flying mounts and the rewards from achievements it likely what keeps the lights on at Blizz HQ.

So I can dispute it ALL DAY every day without needing to understand traffic and congestion, since neither exist in the skies. As for Siren Isle, Iā€™m sure it will be another short lived enjoyable experience we will all forget about when 11.1 finally drops.

Why would I use land mounts in zones like Hallowfall or Azjā€™Kahet??? Itā€™s not about options, land mounts have no place in zones like I mentioned. In addition, not all gathering nodes can be accessed by land mounts. Deny all you want, Skyriding is much better than land mounts. Iā€™m hoping Siren Isle would be different from the rest of Khaz Algar zones, no nodes in unreachable places.

Blizzard could provide +jump to all land mounts, but they didnā€™t.

And this is why I am not going to argue with you: no, induced demand has to do with when an activity creates the demand that in turn establishes the presumptive need or demand of it.

A real world example of this is cars and road usage. In WoW, flying has always worked in an EXTREMELY similar fashion. But you donā€™t get this, which is why Iā€™m not going to engage with you. Because you donā€™t understand the basics needed to discuss this, and you have no interest in learning about it.

So all of what you just typed out can be ignored, because you donā€™t understand the topic.
You have a good day though.

Hot take:

Flying is great for the game, allows for more dynamic zone design, and is something you can choose when and when not to use.

So choose not to when you want to and leave the rest of us alone.

They sure have a lot of spine when denying us the Races we want added to the game.

Which is awesome, cause there is no argument. Just another BloodElf creating drama where none existed 5 minutes ago. Maybe we can get Blizz to put you all in your own forum so you can have a go at each other and let the rest of us go on a Blood Elf free diet.

Is it really a Hot take when it is the truth?

Thatā€™s disappointing. Small zone should not have flying.

Well, it wonā€™t have it immediately, but it does exist.

the clear sky thing you can fly but the ā€œhard modeā€ storm side no flying after the ring is upgraded to the max

Thatā€™s fine I just donā€™t want another permanent nonflying zone like the maw.

Amen to that! Maw and Korthia should have been given flying in DF at minimum. No reason really to leave it as a no fly zone. Make it easier for new folks to WANT to go back in there  And for some of us old folks who occasionally feel the urge to farm.

ahh I donā€™t mind it. I guess timeless isle version isnā€™t going to happen for a while.

They tried Timeless Isle, and they tried The Maw/Korthia. Even Oribos is a no fly zone. I think at this point, with all the flying mounts being added to the game, we will likely not see another ā€œground onlyā€ zone in the game for a LONG whileā€¦ if ever again. Seems like starting on the ground and unlocking flight in new zones has become the meta.

I thought there could be a factor of fear for flying mounts so you canā€™t even use flying mounts for ground only. At some point you can obtain some thing special that dispels the fear and you can then use flying mounts. Maybe even only the flying mounts you have dispelled.
