The high elfs also had druids among them in warcraft 2. They were retconned to be mages. They can be retconned back as botanists which would be a better fit for the lore today. Seeing as it took time to get to the point we are now.
There are nightborne botanists that went to the Legion we fight them in The Tomb of sargeras dungeon. We have seen botanists throughout lore. We have seen the botani which are directly beings of nature that can control it. So that in my opinion would be better then a druid. Seeing as everyone seems to have a connection to it with the night elves lore. It is the route I hope the WoW team makes as botanist are more lore-friendly to other races who don’t necessarily worship wild gods. The transforming concept could be applied to other types of magic in lore. Arcane would make good use of mana-forms. An extension of disguises but more powerful as we witnessed the Nightborne have access to. And it would make more sense with the lore as they would laugh at druidism as botanism would be akin to dark shamans in lore vs shamans.
Got nothing against it but if we are being real here, it’s never going to happen. There are multiple reasons why blizz won’t add a druid options for Sin’dorei one being lore conflicting.
But hey one can dream i guess.
I can see the reasons for and against it in lore. But I see things changing in game as well as blizz updating their race page to include them moving away from Arcane. So it could be a hail Mary play to expect it to go live with Shadowlands. However I still think there are many avenues for Blizzard to write them into gaining druidism.
I don’t think playable Stormwind humans should be druids now, but through both the Kultirans and Gilneans, the next generation could possibly have druids (and shaman).
I guess if WoW lasts long enough we may see many class restrictions fall.
I was hoping[still hoping] Shadowlands would be the xpac that has this happen for the core races.
It would be an ideal time with the new customization. It gives more people reason to have an alt of another race. For example. If they add grimtotem customization to tauren. And in addition to that mage/warlocks it could make more people want to play a Grimtotem mage or warlock. Another example is them adding Wildhammer customization with the druid class available to bronzebeard dwarves.
Another example for something like highmountain would be adding feltotem customization and having warlocks available. Trolls getting paladins (free thinkers) with maybe a forest troll or dark troll look.

I 100% agree with this. When they said this was the expansion of customization because we aren’t getting a new class. My first thought was, so loosen class restrictions?
Yes, OP. Let’s keep watering down this game until everyone can be everything. “Damn the lore, it’s already ruined!“
When everyone is special, no one is.

Yes it would be the PERFECT compliment to the system. And maybe having a 9.1 update with new starting zones for other races would be good for this especially with the leveling revamp. We already added new deathknights as a preorder bonus. Adding the other classes throughout the expansion would make Shadowlands pretty dope and encourage people to play. Who maybe always wanted a blood elf druid but not really a druid sort of thing. And these wouldn’t be timelocked like allied races. So they could play these characters and maybe unlock allied races later if they want.

The rebuilding of Eversong woods along the scar would be a perfect way to introduce BE Druids. Why couldn’t BE learn druidic arts from the other races? I mean it was high elves who taught magic to other races.
I think this works beautifully.

When NEs get access to Paladins, we can have a discussion about it.
3 reasons why this would never happen
-
They didn’t announce new combos for any race in Blizzcon
-
Belfies have zero reasons even touch druid magic lore wise
-
They have already DH as an exclusive class, no way they are going to get another one that is limited by a few races.
Elves are all over the game and we don’t need another invasion of them like it happened in Legion

The new dks were announced with new races. They are early access but they are still part of Shadowlands technically.

I remember they did announce that before Blizzcon since most people were already talking about dks being the fastest way to get heritage armor.
Still my point stands as they would say new classes combos for the base races
Unless they try something new. Which would be refreshing for shadowlands. The expansion focused on player choices.
They retconn’d the warcraft 2 druids when they published Chronicles part 1.
Yeah, no.
High Elves according to lore, only taught the Humans directly. There was a gnome mage back when Alodi was Guardian and Dwarf mages probably learned when there were 3 clans joined together, but there isn’t any “established” lore as to who taught Dwarves.
TAKE MY MONEY! I don’t care if it “makes sense”.
Yes because they are beautiful and people love them.

Once again, someone who doesn’t understand druids.
This isn’t just learning to use Nature. They already twist it with Arcane to do their bidding.
Druids are about having a link to the Emerald Dream or Wild Gods. That’s not something you teach.
