Simple Joys in Warcraft

What little things in WoW make you happy? Odd bits you’ve discovered that make the game more fun for you. List them here.

  • Goblin gliders can be used while stealthed. My Rogues can be real commandos.
  • You can open gifts in enemy cities at Winterveil. You won’t live long, but you can.
  • Visiting creepy Stanikos’s cave to see how he’s updated my shrine.
  • You can get a shoe shine in Dalaran if you know who to ask.
  • The Wanderer’s Festival in Pandaria.
  • Fearing cows and snakes. (I’m weird, and my Warlock indulges me)
  • Jiro in Zereth Mortis stop for coffee breaks.

So, what little things make you smile when playing?

Not everything is sunshine and roses. If you have little grievances try adding them in Cinderpetal’s topic here:

For me? It’s whenever I’m in a zone and the weather changes. I absolutely love that.

I FOUND BUTTERFLIES!

And this quest I randomly found in the Adventure Guide made me giggle:

Random things really.

I also found the butterflies following you around buff cute.

Waterfalls - I just love waterfalls. I always check for hidden caves behind them but sadly rarely find any.

Finding things to perch on while in flight form. I sometimes like to find places I can sit on while using stormcrow form and then log out there. Sometimes for the view, sometimes to just blend in. Rocks, buildings, tree branches, etc.

Watching kids of various races or animals running around or interacting with each other. Makes the world feel more alive.

The music and ambient sounds is very special to me, particularly around Stormwind and Goldshire as they bring back fond memories from the first days of vanilla. I’ve also grown fond of the “newer music” (I stopped playing 2009-2020) from other expansion packs.

Some of my best memories for WoW is the simple things like running old content with friends. I’ve spent countless nights doing transmog runs with the boys, laughing about dumb stuff. Just last night some friends and I talked for 8hrs as I helped two unlock the Vulpera and do their entire quest chain. I love WoW for stuff like that.

The Tuskarr Soup cinematic. After the soups been blasted with magic, stirred with feet, and may or may not been used as a bath for a Void Walker, it’s fun watching Big Kinook drop that one itty bitty fish in and the Tuskarr kids slurping it up like there’s no tomorrow. While Scaps is eating like the good kid he is and plotting to eat them all later.

Climbing all the way up Mount Neverest starting at the steps to the Veiled Stair in Valley of the Four Winds. Its a fun sort of journey.

I was delighted to see Fiona, Tarenar, and Gidwin again. I hadn’t seen any of them since Draenor.

Discovering tricks toys can do.
Example:
Cast: Burgy Blackhearts Handsome Hat
Cast: Sinrunner Blanchy
Remove Burgy Blackhearts Handsome Hat (right click the icon)
and now your toon is the same transparent red as sinrunner is.
Want to get rid of the red? Cast Scroll Of Aeons and sinrunner will be a black horse with glowing red eyes.

  • getting some ancient, obsolete profession recipe that I don’t already have, and knowing I’ll never use it, but delighting in it all the same.
  • weather effects in game, specifically rain and snow.
  • advertising an at least somewhat valuable item in trade at a good price for a quick sale and having someone meet me to snatch it up.
  • summoning my queue of random mounts and Hogrus pops. That little squeal makes me grin every time.
  • facerolling old content that used to roflstomp me. I romped all through the maw and the rift recently, annihilating everything. Payback feels great.
  • blasting randoms with my turkey shooter from a little distance and observing what their reaction is. When they wobble about looking around, it’s hilarious.
  • threads like this.

Some npc dialogues…like dwarf story quests in ruby life pools…or some funy stuff like the Bob Ross questline…or these confused npcs watching aoutomated pick axes doing the work for them in azure span etc…i love these details because it shows that ppl who create this game realy do enjoy their work and truly care.

  • Putting together transmog for fun, most of the time they’re themed. :dracthyr_love_animated:
  • Taking in the view whenever I’m going around in DF.
  • Actually enjoying those N’zoth visions (I’m sorry lmao) now that it’s much easier going through, very eager to get the Black Serpent of N’zoth some day as well.
  • Enjoying SL more now that stuff isn’t bashing my face in.
  • Finally getting my hands on the Black Dragonscale Backpack after putting off the grind to even unlock the purchase for so long :dracthyr_uwu:

Collecting a weapon and then deciding that a transmog needs to accompany said weapon, realize that the belt for said set is also something you don’t have, venture forward looking for said belt, realize the belt is on the AH, oh the belt is very expensive, but the weapon, and the transmog, and the belt…

Oh the world of warcraft we live in :dracthyr_blob_dance_animated:
