Yes please, false flaggers should be banned.
I’ve gotten silenced for saying I like Wranduin; for saying I like melee hunter, for saying I understand Sylvanas… apparently, any of those mean I’m a troll.
I already gave up on the forums. The one thing that’s annoying is the fact that I’ll never have trust lvl 3 now. Welp, not like it matters anyway.
EDIT: wait, my favorite report - I said I think the Human and Orc heritage armors will come last because they have warfront armor, and someone interpreted I meant Humans and Orc “already” have heritage armor.
My horde hunter is Survy and it’s amazing.
Aaaaannddd… the thread was reported. lol
I agree, false flagging is wrong and is flat out ignorant. If you don’t agree with a post be an adult and move forward. Nobody is forcing you to reply or even give that person the time of day.
Then go make or join one. This ain’t it.
The fact that this is flagged is not surprising at all. It is rather humorous.
This is fortunate. I asked what part of a totally innocuous sentence deserved a suspension and they told me that if I ask for clarification they’ll try to have my actual account banned.
I’ve had at least 5 post notifications from today alone saying my posts and THIS topic have been flagged by the community and then I get a followup notification saying it was restored by a moderator (Thank you mods you’re doing a good job, but pls do something about these people). Pathetic that people go out of their way to do this.
Be honest, are you that DH’s alt?
Beat me to it.
It would be less of an issue if we had an ignore feature on these forums. We could just block out people we don’t want to hear from, rather than resort to reporting.
nope, its a numbers thing, then they get reviewed
My last suspension was in response to someone mocking me but I did it in a way that jokingly agreed with the person and was a bit of self-deprecating.
Basically I was suspended for being too hard on myself.
Mods don’t care, they only see that you have been suspended before and just let it go through. They don’t even read the thread for context, they just hand out the suspension.
Or they could just change the forums so that each post and flag and like and other actions are all account specific, and not character specific… Really no reason it should be as open as it is.
I’ve posted many an unpopular opinion on the forums and have never been actioned to my knowledge. A lot of it tends to be how you conduct yourself, not what opinion you’re sharing. There are a lot of people who complain about getting flagged that claim it’s for their opinion yet the way and manner they conduct themselves is very telling of what actually happened.
With that said, there are also a lot of false flags as well. It’s actually relatively disheartening when disagreements are merely flagged; I’ve had some genuinely good debates on these forums with certain posters and I enjoy my time opening my views to what they see.
Though I do heavily disagree with:
Up to a certain point, at least. The problem with the belief of “safe space” are generally people on the internet who want the ability and freedom to push buttons way too far. I’m not at all saying that’s what you want, Keyturn, but I’ve seen the desire for less safe spaces very often come from people who troll, harass, pester, insult, and otherwise push their anonymity as far as they can go while claiming that “they’re just messing around.” I’ve always hated the cesspool culture that exists in online forums and in trade chat that people can say horrific things and are just messing around.
Legitimate debate, however, count me in. I love arguing and debating, and I’ve often been proven short sighted or even wrong on these forums. It’s very satisfying when two individuals can discuss something in depth without either resorting to name calling.
Which is funny when this topic was literally flagged within probably 10 minutes.
That is definitely one of the false flags. People think they’re being clever because the OP wants actions against those who false flag.
For the record I only report personal attacks and people just being needlessly harsh to others for no real reason. I’m a fan of civil discussion but have no interest in, well, less than civil discussion.
Agreed there. The “anti-safe space” folks generally seem to be saying “I want the freedom to be a butthead to everyone without consequences!”
Try going into a restaurant and cursing out the staff and see how long you stay there.
