I transferred from Proudmoore to Area 52 about a week and half ago. Right now it’s showing Gektheraz-Proudmoore even though the toon is on Area 52 realm. It’s currently preventing me from queueing for mythic+ groups and possibly LFR (Taking FOREEEEEEEVER cuz I queued for over 2 hours now). My name is not on the guild’s online list nor offline list either. Nobody can whisper me or anything. Can’t even invite me nor can I invite them. This is very very very frustrating.
Anyone know a fix for this or do I have to wait for customer support to fix this?
It’s a known issue. No, there isn’t a fix for it as yet. As soon as they get it figured out, it will be fixed and there’ll be a post on it most likely. One of our SFAs has been keeping up with folks when they check in with her in one of the other threads about this.
I have the same issue but a lil different… I’m on Frostmourne and my Lock is displayed with her name and server I transferred from at least 5 years ago and the name was changed twice since then
That is very odd. Sounds similar to the name bug (which is being worked on - it needs a patch to implement). Most of those self-correct on a realm reset, this may as well. Given it’s patch week there very well could be one before next Tuesday. If this doesn’t right itself afterwards, please do let us know.
Yeah, mine either. I realm transferred 8 months ago and now the old names on all my realm-transferred toons is showing up in guild chat and in communities. Worse, I can’t even see my rank in guild (I’m one rank after the GM).
At first, I thought it was just my game. So, I checked my phone’s Wow Companion app and the issue is there as well. It’s not just the game server or a local client.
What’s odd is my friends say the names look correct to them, so that’s interesting. Why is it I can’t see my correct information and it bugs out but it works for everyon except me? (Of note, this toon is not one I’m looking at - my hunter, druid, and rogue are all experiencing this. I haven’t check the warlock, priest, or mage yet.)
My name wasn’t right in guild chat, but upon server reset earlier today it corrected itself; however, it has since changed back to my old name again in guild chat
I server transfered six toons from Aerie Peak to Stormrage and everything was okay Tuesday night but logging in tonight, see one as Name-AeriePeak, so i presume the other five’ll be the same. Thinking that we’ll have to wait until next Tuesday for this to remedy itself?
That’s a LONG time without groups, especially the 50s lowbies wanting to level up to 60 throughout the week… would be nice for a hotfix to be pushed through!
yeah… mines still the same… the server it’s displaying me at is the server i started on way back and the name is from there as well… OH. Also it doesn’t show me logged in on the guild list either
Blizzard is patching the game almost constantly since Tuesday. There was maintenance Wednesday and now there is maintenance scheduled for today. You likely won’t have to wait until Tuesday for the information to finish updating.
I’m having this issue too, but in a much more weird way…
I used to be on Bleeding Hollow 3 years ago and then moved my DK to Illidan 2 years ago and used a completely different name… then I moved to Mal’Ganis last year. I have not transferred or re-named this character in over a year.
Starting today… I don’t show up in guild list of who is online, but when I chat in game it shows my DK’s old-old name from 3 years ago when it was on Bleeding Hollow (like Name-Bleeding Hollow in guild chat). This issue just started today and I haven’t changed anything.
Very similar to what’s happening to me, albeit 2 years for me instead of 3.
Also, I do have multiple toons showing up online in guild, at the bottom of the roster, with the wrong name and server at the same time, even though I haven’t logged on to some of them in a day or two.
The issue was temporarily resolved for an hour or two after the Thursday morning downtime, but not long after it resumed.
Tried reporting this as a bug and just kept going around in circles and then takes me to the bug report forums. Character transfer today. Still has old server. Bug reported
Still not working properly. I understand having to wait for a patch, but as the GM of my guild, I have no control of my guild right now… neither do half my officers who are also having this issue! I think this should be put a bit higher on the priority list of things to be resolved. Please and Tank you! <3
I thought this’d be fixed with Tuesday’s maintenance but some of my six transferred characters appear sometimes and some don’t with irregularity.
With the amount of people / toons that this is affecting, if we had some feedback from Blizzard about the best way to proceed, that’d be wonderful, but i bet that their bug feedback folk must be swamped right now dealing with daily bugs.
