She should be the Leader of the Night Elves. Savage and ruthless, What Grommash Hellscream called “Perfect Warriors.”

Too bad. Night Elves are on the Alliance, which means they are completely neutered. Never allowed to do anything, just be cannon fodder for the human characters.
The Alliances goal in the story of Warcraft is to be a follow the Horde around.

I’d follow Maiev or Shandris. Literally anyone but Tyrande/Malfurion. IMO malf should have died to Saurfang. Then the old orc would actually have something worth staining his precious honor and moaning about. Personal blood on his hands.
This would legitimately PO Tyrande and push her into a more darker version of the one we got now. That then has to be put down by the players. I was kinda hoping Greymane would go down a similar path from his actions back in Legion but instead we do the boring ''eh he’s randomly redeemed, we clapped our hands and said so" so Tess would take the reigns.
What a bunch of garbage that entire heritage line was. Honestly a lot of the Alliance leadership is frustrating the hell out of me. The one guy I wanted to live they killed off.

Do you guys actually have any proof of the night elves originally being barbaric and savage? Cause the only proof I ever see bandied about is Grommash calling them perfect warriors and it seems hilarious that the rabid night elf fans base their self image on the words of an orc.

I was getting the impression that their false goddess Elune was finally going to be exposed - the night elves need a reformer.
Exposed as what? She’s given power to her priestesses countless times. She exists.
Maiev would be a fantastic Night Elf leader to replace Tyrande.
Regardless of the insults toward the NE leadership, I still stand with them.
One would think this would have been the path we took. It would have explained exactly why the forsaken nightelf dark rangers decided to come back to life and follow someone like Sylvanas. It would explain why Elune allowed the entire tree and its people to burn without putting up much of a fight.
Instead they’re gonna be goodie goodies that can do no wrong. One side is clearly bad and any of the supposed “grey” we were promised thrown out the window.
Night Elves are a zealous civilization that is centered around Elune. The next leader will likely be the next High Priestess following Tyrande.
Also Shandris was found by Tyrande when she was very young during the War of the Ancients. She’s been with Tyrande as an adopted daughter for 10,000 years. I’d be surprised if she turned out that different.
Yes Elune exists, but the abomination is clearly tainted by darkness and the void.
Pagan Religion: Check.

Distrustworthy of Technology and Magic: Check
Murder renegade magic users: Check
Fought an army of demons, crafting them into a Warrior society for over 10000 years as the Women defended their homeland from any and all outsiders: Check
Straight up murder people and write in their blood for having different religious veiws: Check.

Who muder people. eat their corpses, and use their blood for rituals. Right?
They simply abandoned Voodoo for Elune, and it shaped their society to match. But just because they live in magical trees doesn’t mean they won’t destroy anyone who looks at them funny.

Even if she doesn’t die, Shandris is a way better leader. Tyrande has been due for retirement since her first scene back in 2003.
None of the things in your list make them barbaric savages though. Maybe slightly edgier than your average human at best.
