Should Jaina be held accountable for war crimes for her murderous purge of innocent Blood Elves in Dalaran?

Plus they did it right as the Blood Elves were discussing joining the Alliance. In an expansion that launched a neutral race, there were people genuinely wondering.

Then boom. Purge. Game over.

RPer’s actively seek out drama.

The Highbourne.

Who were exiled and became the high/blood elves.

Of course they do, that’s the fun of RP. When you have no drama in your life, you just wanna give your character that existence.

Yep. It was one of the few good times they wrote a faction war story.

Go look up the 7th legion. Dalaran had been picking sides before this, she was just OK as long as it was pro-Alliance.

They only got Arcane Magic because the Titans (accidentally) made the Well of Eternity.

And who represents the Titans on Azeroth? Dwarves, Gnomes, and checks notes humans

Sorry, your post is not accurate. Please try again!

You keep blaming Arthas for the actions of an ORC WARLOCK.

If only it had all been intentional.

The reason it’s still talked about is because of the mess that is made of it due to retcons, bugs, and post-mortem clarifications of cut content.

As far as retcons go, originally the theft of the Divine Bell was supposed to have devastated Darnassus. It was an actual assault on Darnassus, during which the Divine Bell’s power had been weaponized, leading to mass casualties. This was the reason Jaina was so furious. The thing is, Night Elf players were already furious over the butchering of Tyrande in, ‘A Little Patience,’ and the devs changed the theft portion of the questing to not kick them while they were already down. They didn’t have the time to change the Purge, and so Jaina’s anger seemed irrational.

Due to bugs, Jaina was one-shotting NPCs, when she wasn’t supposed to be. It took a while for the devs to clarify she was supposed to be teleporting NPCs off.

Lastly, Aethas being intimidated by that one Horde Orc was cut from the final product, and this led Horde players to believe he honestly had no idea what was going on, when in truth, he knew full well and had chosen to betray Dalaran and his duties as a member of the Council of Six.

The Purge of Dalaran was a mess.

To this day, Blood Elves treating The Undead Scourge as though it was an Alliance proxy is the forums funniest bad take.

Nuh uh, i did that. And im not horde. :stuck_out_tongue:

They were Night Elves, doesn’t matter. Not all the Highborne went. The Shendralar went to Dire Maul, untold thousands went with Azshara, and a small group left for Quel’Thalas.

It’s an unpleasant pill but your current race aren’t the fathers and mothers of Arcane magic.

The devs have said your horde side quests are not canon. Live with it.

I mean, the dude shuffling uncomfortably on the Isle of Thunder at the Jaina x Aethas confrontation was meant to show that he knew what was going on. Anyone ignoring that detail is just trying to be ignorant.

Also yeah, I don’t overall disagree with your post.

Not our fault you guys were too busy being golems and robots.

Perhaps if you evolved sentience faster.

Good guy old gods evolving robots.

Really, Elves owe humanity reparations for scamming them into paying Elves for something that was rightfully theirs in the first place.

The ingame event isn’t what happened in actual cannon lore, her targeting AI is set to kill everyone because…well game AI = kill all enemies. In actuality, she teleported all “innocent” to jail cells and the actual guilty blood elves who helped him got killed.

No wonder the Alliance regularly partakes in genocide.

You think you have claim to anything “Titan related”.
