I think if that’s the way you feel about the likes of The Last of Us, God of War, Spiderman and Uncharted, you’re not giving them anywhere near the credit they’re due.
Sony’s single player exclusive lineup is pretty much the main reason why they crushed the last console generation.
I actually bought a ps4 at launch specifically for the remastered last of us, it still is my favorite game from that console, platted it and can narrate it by heart
Doesnt change the fact that its 5-10mins of gameplay in between cutscenes
I just watched a lets play of the part 2, was really no reason to play it as its just an interactive movie like most sony exclusives - which is fine tbh as that seems to sell fine , just not for me
And sony crushed it because they always do, even their worst gen ps3 it still wasnt that far behind the 360.
You’re entitled to feel how you want about the games, but you’re being hyperbolic, it’s nowhere near 5-10 minutes of gameplay between cutscenes, The Last of Us Part II is a solid 25-30 hour game so long as you’re not rushing it, and the vast majority of that is actual gameplay. How could you watch all of the action, gunplay and amazing AI from the enemies in a chapter like Hillcrest and say that it wasn’t worth playing?
Look, whether you like games or styles of games is completely subjective, so if you don’t like them, that’s totally cool. You’re just doing them a disservice to talk like your feelings on how they play is an objective fact. The single player lineup has some of the most awarded and highly rated games of the generation, they don’t get there by being nothing but 5-10 minutes of gameplay between cinematics.
5-10mins was moreso for last of us pt 1, i stated 10-15m for most others
And of course their high rated, their created perfectly for watching -and- playing by being made as a movie with gameplay segments
Out of all the games people have seen me play, last of us was the only one that would stop them to comment, and it was always something like “what movie is that”
Massively understating the gameplay segments. The Last of Us Part II and Uncharted 4 for example both have large areas that can take up a couple of hours worth of gameplay before you get to another cutscene, each time you leave the cinema as Ellie, you’re looking at a solid hour+ of gameplay before you get to the ends of those chapters. It’s fine to have your option on stuff but exaggerating doesn’t strengthen your stance, it weakens it.
You can say that all you like, but it doesn’t make it true. There’s really no point trying to have a dialogue about it if you can’t even get onboard with reality, have a nice day
Scarlet/Violet come out in 3 months, and a pokemon gen always lasts 3-4 years. Which means at the very least, you will get 3-4 years of Pokemon out of it.
I also highly recommend Legends Arceus to any pokemon lovers - it’s a unique take on the Pokemon Games, but it’s very fun. It’s probably the highest fan reviewed game since Black/White 2, which is over a decade ago, iirc?
They might add a spinoff on the next console like they did Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee, but not a new gen.
The Switch is the one thing I’ve never really regretted buying. I had a Switch Lite, but upgraded to OLED 2 months ago when I had the money. Traded in the Lite to Gamestop for $99 and got a new game and one used game for the OLED.
They seem to cut a lot of corners these days, the Nintendo seal of quality really isn’t a thing and their IPs have really stagnated.
Course I seem to be in the minority when it comes to noticing how cheap they are getting, lots of people are happy with titles like AC despite getting so much less.
Naw, we understand they’re cutting corners, and it gets made well known, and Nintendo has addressed it.
But we still want to support the franchises so that they can learn and make the next games better.
This was proven to be a good thing, as Animal Crossing’s paid DLC and free final patch added almost everything people had been begging for. And what they made paid DLC worked fine - I don’t need it, it’s not something I find fun, but it’s something a lot of people love and for them, it was worth the money. (Especially since they get it for free if they get the Nintendo Online Expansion Pass) Same with Mario Kart’s DLC.
Like people considered GameFreak as dropping the ball with Sword/Shield, and then outsourcing Diamond/Pearl remakes to ILCA, who just did a straight up port with better models than a remake. But then Legends Arceus dropped and people realized GF is indeed taking feedback to heart. And now with the Scarlet/Violet trailers, we saw that more.
That’s the difference with Nintendo and their exclusive IPs - the developers actually take feedback to heart and try to improve.
I’m going by the reactions on the Pokemon Discord and Reddit. Most of us believe GameFreak took the feedback to SwSh to heart. Apart from Dexit. Which I still don’t believe in.
