Towards the end of WoD blizzard did add the item to a vendor for 1250 valor points. But by then most people who did HFC wouldâve had it capped by then anyway. It was added in 6.2.5 i believe.
Oh, thatâs what I was remembering. I think you could buy those on top of the Archimonde ones too, thatâs how I finished off spec rings and my Hunterâs 795.
It a talent point. You should have them all at level cap.
Itâs a trinket actually. You were never given âBiSâ trinkets on alts account wide prior.

It is actually the wrath glyph system with new paint but we are arguing semantics because you donât have a argument beyond the sunk time fallacy.

I wish theyâd scrap all the new systems and just bring back tier gear with guaranteed sockets on certain pieces. Thereâs your âbonus sets and customizable statsâ.
Put main stats back on jewelry. Bring back reforge the way it was before. Let us enchant things. Give us our glyphs back.
Everything was totally fine the way it was. They dumped it all in to a container, set it on fire, and gave it back to us. It hurts my head how dumb it all is.

The effects are much closer to what youâd get from trinkets than from the Glyphs.
I mean, you could also just play without essences if itâs too hard for you to do Raids and Mythic+ to get like 3 free ones.

Main stats always end up sucking around the x.2 patch and having none of them on rings makes rings actually fun, instead of just being âBracersâ in terms of itemization.

Why do you people want less? Essences are going to be in this game for only so long before they are done away with. Why must they be so unpleasant? Much like the legiondary system before it I enjoy playing with essences, but the means of acquiring them are a huge turn off. Its funny because in 8.2 they made legiondary boxes that you could LEVEL with, and even later they made a vendor so you could actually pick out the legiondaries that you needed rather then waiting for rng to bless you.
IMAGINE if you will a world where your alts get their essences at 120 giving them a significant boost and the ability to play around with options rather then farming in hopes that you like the thing at the end of the grind. IMAGINE a world where you get your lightforged deathknight to bfa content and boom you got essences to play with and for a few glorious levels you can go out with your random legiondary you farmed from antorus transmog runs AND one purple essence(meme beam). I imagine that its not a super offensive image. Donât worry in my mental image of this it is pretty unholy.
As it stands the essence system is a deterrent to playing 8.3 on an alt, or even coming back to 8.3 if you havenât done 8.2. It is a massive opportunity cost, and that cost is heavily increased depending on the content. Lately Iâve considered working on my paladin to get that ret spec up to date, and also about that lightforged death knight that i want to make. For both of these I want blood of the enemy, and that thought makes my blood go cold, and makes my motivation die.
And before you try to pick apart my argument Iâll do it for you. I am not arguing I am appealing to your good sense and your good taste. I am asking for a system that was quickly brought out, and has potential but various downsides to be updated to have less downsides, in the players favor.
I am not going to bother its painfully clear your trying to add weird restrictions on what the past used to allow and how things worked. I donât need to armory you to know you barely touched mythic. I peg you as a middling heroic raider. the kind that invent all kinds of crazy ideas of what they âhaveâ to do to progress.
The reality is theyâre just not needed to progress on content. You can do content without them, and your alts should have a progression curve to them anyhow.
I picked up my DK that I hadnât played since patch 8.1, it was 385 geared and neck 35 just last week, with no essences. Today, It has like 6 essences, neck 65 and even Rank 2 Lucid / Rank 2 meme beam already. I tanked an 11 last week on it, using Rank 1s essences, only 2 of them.
You guys really overestimate the effort, and frankly, the actual need for essences for the content an alt on its first week of gearing up is going to do.
Alts always had a âGear upâ phase, this is no different, and takes no extra time.
