Should Blizzard stop all paid for carry groups?

If Blizzard was allowed to moderate their game in China, the Chinese playerbase wouldn’t be having this problem.

Blizzard employees do it themselves.

I agree with you, it does devalue the game and every player’s accomplishments, which ruins the game “fantasy”. What particularly peeves me is when non-armor items like trade skill patterns, battle pets, and mounts are locked behind raids. I find these Blizzard practices wholly abhorrent, and their lack of fairness is #2 on my list of why I will no longer play their games.

Ding ding ding, we have a winner. It’s almost like the CCP wrests control of any product manufactured outside of the country away from the rightful owner and forces them to delegate the marketing and control to what amounts to little more than their agent, with the sole intent of slurping up any profits that might go to the rightful owner of the intellectual property.

People have been getting achievements since they were introduced by being carried even if not for gold.

My guild carried about 6 (0-10 grey parsers on warcraft logs) for AoTC this last raid tier.

That doesn’t make is right, or fair.

It also doesn’t matter in the slightest. The only value achievements have is what you value them at.

We need to remove the ability for people to carry others by getting gathering resources.

Its not fair that someone can just buy a token, get some others to fly around Nazjatar picking herbs for them, then use their gold to buy those herbs.

Down with all gold buying abilities!

If the title of a group in LFG says “selling”

To give a serious response to this topic: raiding is expensive, very expensive. So there’s the pots+food+repairs for every pull, several flasks per night, vantus per week. If you’re slightly more serious then augment runes per pull, BoEs in the first few weeks of a raid, and the resources you’d spend on running m+ early in the tier as well. Multiply by 20 ppl minimum, but you also have a bench as well.
Carries allow guilds to recuperate the losses they innately have from being a raiding guild and even get rewarded for their achievements without having to waste time farming matts for themselves.

That’s only the advertising part, and I agreed that advertising could be banned.

But it doesn’t change that people can sell those on external websites/discords or etc.

Blizzard can’t know without people saying it’s a carry basicly.

Some sales exceed $500 for a Mythic mount. It’s pretty insane how much people will spend on this game in a single expansion.

I don’t think “right or wrong” is the best argument.

Really, the only reason I could see Blizzard thinking to stop for gold carries would be to shut-up all the support tickets of people scammed out of gold by dishonest people(s).

While not against the rules, for gold carries are unsupported, meaning it’s allowed, but if you do get scammed, you might not get your gold back.

If you plan to buy a carry, do so from reputable groups.

55+ replies and nobody read OP’s novel?

No…they shouldnt stop it. But anyone who allows these carried player into their groups should be allowed to know they got where they are by being carried rather than doing the hard work themselves.

right…they do that on my server too.
Get around that by using the regional numbers for your listing price in TSM instead of your realm prices.
You’ll sell more and you’ll drive those clowns nuts in the process.

No they should not stop it .

Its on the player to do so . why is there so many carries offered ? Because people are toxic and unhelpful most of the time . I remember in siege of org. people werent selling garrosh kill for heirlooms and aotc , they were giving it away so that most people would have them , think its the last time i ever saw a huge sense of community from the wow playerbase!

Get rid of gold, go to a full trade based economy.

Blizzard won’t stop carries. They count on the income from players throwing money at their computer screens.

It’s sad really. It just takes away from the accomplishments of others who but in the time and effort to earn their rewards.

Not to mention it allows others to exploit people who given in to their desire for instant gratification consumerism.

Who are you to decide how the player enjoy their game?
If they have the gold to buy run then let them be.
Blizzard own fault for adding mount on AOTC that make people want to spend their gold on the carry.
Plus mythic mount drop would be 0.1% drop rate after the current expansion, if they had the gold to buy it, it their problem.
The only way to solve the problem is increase the drop rate of the mount for mythic run and remove the mount from AOTC which I don’t see the reason they will make the change
