Should a CM be snarky on twitter?

but he has stated it .

Doesn’t matter. Blizzard Legal team would never approve it. Lore’s @devolore account has no official capacity. This is why they post on @WarcraftDevs instead – plus anonymity to prevent witch hunts.

“Basically, I have two accounts right now for pretty much the same thing, and it’s just making it hard for me to keep up with everything. I miss a lot of tweets because I wasn’t looking at the right account at the time. So, @CM_Lore will be going inactive, and I’ll be focusing all of my personal communication through @devolore. Anything I would have previously tweeted, replied to, or otherwise done via @CM_Lore will now be done via @devolore instead”

Here’s a fun little game. Let’s play: Alternative Facts.

You give me a fact. (your post above will suffice)
I’ll give you a fact.

We’ll let other people decide who has the “real fact” and the “alternative fact.”

Here is my submission. Now, kindly, stop posting nonsense. @Devolore has no official capacity. Also, this was 2.5 years ago.

Yeah, but people don’t just see this as a “product” they buy, they see it as a world they inhabit. Regardless of how the people who actually make the game think of it. And that’s the rub. People get incredibly passionate (/lul) about it, and that’s something that a company interested in building (or even maintaining) a “world” should be taking into consideration.

Communication is an important part of that.

As I’ve mentioned already, he can be held accountable for his words. (He is.)

You don’t think he should have a job because a few immature “adults” complained on the forums over a misunderstanding or outright refusal to comprehend his words. Sure, bud.

If you want more/better communication, don’t be the reason why CM’s get snarky.

Believe me, I am on board with the point that communication is lacking. However, it really doesn’t ring true with me that the problem is wholly on Blizzard themselves when I think back over how their designated mouthpieces have been treated over the years.

When they communicate openly and freely with us, that’s often just more opportunities for a portion of the community to treat them like trash. I strongly believe that if we want better communication, we are going to have to make that stop of our own accord.

That’s the thing, CM’s should never get snarky. Being straight forward, respectful, and standing up for themselves by all means. Being snarky doesn’t help anyone in the end. Except for maybe a brief moment of making themselves and a few other people feel better. It’s just going down to the level of the person that they’re reacting to.

Be the better person. Make a positive response. Acknowledge what makes the game and the players have a rewarding and fun game experience. Trolls are going to Troll. Don’t be baited by them.

First off, we’re customers that pay for a product. Blizzard needs to be more aware of who pays for their sweet Christmas parties at Disneyland. Second, there’s negative sentiment because not only is the game not in a good state, but there is very little open discussion with the community about ways to build player trust.

There will always be toxic buttheads in every community. Every. Single. One. It’s up to Blizzard to properly train/educate employees on how to handle that, and to communicate only to the players actually trying to give feedback/ask questions/want answers. Don’t punish an entire community because of some passionate, angry dweebs.

Other companies don’t get tight-lipped just because some scream angry nonsense. They work to alleviate player sentiment and not make snarky asides about why they’re not willing to speak.

Ysithens is a perfect example of a guy that was willing to communicate, while also keeping his cool/being extremely positive. He’s even been super respectful to his former employer by not slamming their practices publicly. What a G. It’s unfortunate Blizzard didn’t see his potential and let him go.

It’s hard to take a guy seriously who looks like he’s just rolled out of bed on official interviews.

Plenty of people.

Also what Carhagen said.

Let’s see a pic of you, definitely-attractive-and-stylish-wow-player.

Don’t forget to hold a sign with your character name in the selfie so we know it’s not a stock photo. And hold a spoon between your third and fourth fingers on your left hand. And make a funny face… for, you know, reasons.

You seem triggerd :slightly_smiling_face:

Who, me? Nah, just bored. The kids in here do have me a bit riled up I guess though. I still can’t really understand what they’re all offended about. Of all the tweets to demand someone’s resignation over, this is the most benign I’ve ever read. I’ve seen laundry lists with more snark.

Everyone is offended how stupid that tweet was, that’s pretty much it.

But by calling for him to be fired because of it, aren’t they proving him right?

I’m not paid to be lead CM and give official professional interviews in a hoodie and ball cap, so that point is moot.
