Should a CM be snarky on twitter?

I supported BFA before it was out. We all did with it breaking the record of copy’s sold…then we played it lul

I’m just curious why CMs have to be so snarky like it’s our fault that we don’t like the “philosophy” of the current game. Just had to put my thoughts out there (don’t hurt me)

The person that you are talking about has it on his private Twitter, however, it was a bit snarky (again) and if I were him, I’d be concerned about the company letting me go for not being very diplomatic even if it is a private Twitter.

Personally I think what a CM does has changed, I think he just does twitter now

Let him be as snarky as he wants. We’re free to mock him.

If you call for his head I am 100% against you. It was his private account.

I think Lore’s snark is borne of the culture in which he works. If the higher-ups hold the players in contempt, it rubs off on the rank-and-file.

And don’t try to tell me that any of them really like us, because I seriously doubt it.

You realize that his “support” was talking about how awful people in general treat Blizzard employees? Something you’re literally providing an example of right now by misconstruing what he said just to trash talk him.

Edit - Kind of like how his previous remark about “calling players names” was explicitly talking about toxic trolls on twitter harassing people, which those same people spun to be “HE HATES ALL THE PLAYERS”

Really depends upon the situation. If they are responding to someone who is being rude, snarky or over dramatic. In those cases I wouldn’t have a problem with it, after all people tend to treat you the way you treat them.

He considers it edgy but does not realize he makes Activision look bad and there will be long term consequences.

No, Lore was twisting words. People have been calling for his firing for years now but he turns it around trying to say everyone wants “All devs should be fired”

He was trying to garner pity by attaching himself to the suffering and firing of others. Pretty disrespectful in my eyes.

Why do you care?

Isn’t this kind of close to a call out?

Not to defend him, because I’m not, but I can’t count the number of posts I’ve read just around GD saying that all devs who worked on BFA should be fired.

That sentiment IS out there. Just sayin’.

They are human too. I don’t fault them for being “snarky” with miscreant posters.

bfa is a good expansion. people are just dramatic. lol. it’s GD “cool” to demand people be fired and talk about how it’s the worst expansion ever. but they’re still playing. so that says it all.

Are you really surprised that people who get paid to “manage the community” are jerks in real life?

That’s how addiction works. You keep going back for a hit even though you know it’s bad for you.

Personally of I were one of the guys in Blizzard I would be telling you to take hike. But then again that is just me lol

I’m fine with employees having their private twitter accounts. But when they start talking about the game & community their job revolves around on that private twitter account, suddenly there’s a lot of crossover and I don’t think “it’s okay because it’s private” applies anymore.

He also lists his position at Blizzard in the description of his private twitter and still uses the “lore” handle on the private twitter (I’m aware he used it before Blizzard, but still).

With this community, not really. To be honest most people around here are way to melodramatic and think their rage is justified. So they treat the CS like trash in the process and then wonder why they are given the cold shoulder…

If there is ever a world where snark is not appreciated, it will truly be the end of all good things.

Just saying, :woman_shrugging::heart: snarkily :wink:
