Nothing will happen. He’ll go into work, his manager will probably talk to him and ask if he’s okay. He’ll say “Sorry, people just misunderstand my words and it’s a bit annoying.” His manager will say, “Yeah, it happens. Do your best and let me know if you need anything.” And that will be all.
Eyup. Especially since the rush to say “OMG HE’S TALKING ABOUT BLIZZARD’S LAYOFFS!” is laughable. EA announced layoffs on March 26th. Lore’s Twitter about supporting devs before they’re laid off is made on the 26th. Why is connecting the dots between these two events difficult for so many people?
I haven’t referred to any specific post or CM, I don’t even follow them. I just generalizing why a snarky CM would be snarky.
I think Lore’s snark is borne of the culture in which he works. If the higher-ups hold the players in contempt, it rubs off on the rank-and-file.
And don’t try to tell me that any of them really like us, because I seriously doubt it.
Blizzard has such PR problems. There is no one at Blizzard that I can see that champions the WoW experience and the players that love it!
I found his snaky remark very discerning. Instead of trying to bring players together with what we all love, we instead have a representative of Blizzard/WoW, standing on a soapbox and looking down at people and attacking them. That’s not good PR that’s helpful for bringing the WoW gaming community together! It’s very troublesome and makes me think that Blizzard has bigger internal problems than we all know about.
Get over it. Most of us are adults. Stop being whiny brats.
This attitude seems to be endemic to all those that serve Activision.

Cyouskin doesn’t ‘serve Activision’ she (going by avatar gender, sorry if I get it wrong) is a WoW player just like you and me. A helpful WoW player, hence the MVP title, but it’s not a role that gives any financial gains.
Calling out immaturity is perfectly normal when it comes to adulthood.
literally what does this guy even do other than Q&A vids and rant on twitter. im serious
No. It’s highly unprofessional and against the core purpose of their job. A more professional company would fire the person or discipline them (and rightly so) as well as release a press statement to apologize to customers and be transparent.
Blizzard could take a leaf out of Arena Net’s book. ANet is not a perfect game company but my respect for them went up so much after the feminist fail debacle.
ArenaNet is a professional studio and definitely would get my vote over Blizzard, especially if I were an investor.

He also stream GTA 5 and other stuff that is not WOW.

I understand that and it has zero bearing on my assertion. And I disagree strongly that “MVPs” aren’t beholden to Activision.
Should we be violating forum TOU by calling out a Blizzard employee for what he does on his personal twitter? Probably not.

I think it all depends on how it’s expressed. A discussion that respectfully states ones views and feelings on a matter with the purpose of resolving conflict issues with a positive outcome. I would hope so.

CM roles vary. Given what I know, Lore and friends do a lot of the blog posts, hotfix notes, internal feedback, external feedback, publishing, community outreach, and a lot more stuff regarding products.
This attitude seems to be endemic to all those that serve Activision.
All I got from Blizzard is some green text and a target on my back. I wish I was on payroll haha.
Community talks non stop garbage towards blizzard, CMs have every right to slap the hell outta This toilet bowl playerbase.

One can serve without being financially recompensed.

I mean, I’m not currently subbed. Guess I’m not a shill?
That’s interesting. And I appreciate your honesty.
If I could be bold and push my luck; Why do you still wear the “green?” So to speak.
It’s a choice, not a mandate.
And, going further, what was it that made you unsub?
I understand that and it has zero bearing on my assertion. And I disagree strongly that “MVPs” aren’t beholden to Activision.
They’re literally not. Multiple MVPs have spoken out against Blizzard’s decisions in the past, some to the point where they’ve even chosen to stand down from the position and go back to being normal forum posters.
No MVP is ‘beholden to the will of Activision’. They’re not employees of Activision, they’re not chosen to be MVPs by Activision.
Conspiracy theories ultimately make you look foolish.

My account is flagged for MVP. All my toons would wear the green. I chose my old main because that’s how people recognize me.
I wear the green because I actually like the game. There are things I loathe, but there are things that I genuinely enjoy. A lot of my enjoyment used to come from Heroic\Mythic raiding, but I’ve since moved on due to work and other matters of adulting. From there, I still got to enjoy making WAs and WA tools that tens of thousands of players use. But my WAs are pretty much set and there’s nothing really to iterate on, so there’s nothing left to develop that is worth my time.
My last bastion of enjoyment comes from friends and the community. My schedule is odd, so I can’t play with friends as often as I’d like. We play other games, but WoW doesn’t fit in my lifestyle. From there, my stake in the community is through theorycrafting. Since I’m not a hardcore elitist jerk anymore, I cannot really speak to the top-tier gameplay of today’s game. With that said, I’m still regarded as a community pillar. My “work” with the game comes into play during Alpha and Beta where I do my best to make sure my spec of choice doesn’t end like like Spriest and Ele on BFA launch. Since BFA isn’t in Beta, I really don’t have much to add until Alpha/Beta for 9.0.
Unsubbing was simply growing out of the current game because I don’t enjoy the systems. Uncapped Titanforging is dumb and the weekly rewards are so powerful compared to the gear I acquire in my content level (Heroic raids, Mythic+10’s), that rolling the dice each week is viewed as a waste of time. The game doesn’t reward my effort, as such , I don’t put any effort into the game. Because of that, I’ve lost interest and unsubbed.
But you still post about titanforging like it affects you.
