Should a CM be snarky on twitter?

For what it’s worth, if the game is good than yes (or at least it doesn’t matter). If the game is mediocre and people are barely hanging on - and are already being pretty loyal, than no.

It’s a video game company not the government. I’m fine with CMs being a little unprofessional.

I don’t tho like how he tells me what to do :rage:

Snarky you say? On twitter you say? I am shocked, SHOCKED to hear that someone got snarky on twitter on their private account.

The block could easily have been misconstrued as its own reason to stir up outrage. The commonly held belief seems to be that if one’s wallet is a revenue stream for a company, they have to put up with whatever garbage gets spewed forth from the mouth and/or keyboard of the holder of that wallet.

Perhaps I wouldn’t be successful in running my own business, but if it were up to me, anyone verbally abusing my employees for any reason would be fired as a customer. I wouldn’t want to do business with anyone who behaves that way, and as a consumer, I would prefer to do business with companies who don’t do business with those people.

My service will be better when it isn’t being addressed by a representative who has just been treated like garbage by someone else. My time in a restaurant is negatively impacted by that loud jerk mouthing off at a host or hostess.

Private or not, attacking/disparaging/blaming/etc the people your employer is trying to keep paying into their products isnt exactly a smart move.

On twitter, being snarky is considered almost like polite discourse. Come on. It’s twitter.

I’d support your business lol

When I look at reviews and see the business owner calling out nasty reviewers for lies I am waaay more likely to go.

I guess I just appreciate the realness in the sea of corporate robots.

It’s not as bad as Az keeps saying it is in his videos, he says how bad leveling sucks, I actually like leveling, I like questing, sometimes it’s the journey, not the destination.
The reason this thread exists is because Az was being snarky about one of Lore’s tweets on Twitter.
I’m not a wow sycophant, and I don’t care for Lore, but I don’t obsess over what he says, and I still enjoy the game it’s not as bad as these youtubers are painting it. BFA can use some improvement and hopefully it won’t be a total flop.

I’m in that business and I know it is a competitive one and that rude customer is the basis for the bottom line and if you lose that customer that is one more your competition gets.
I’m a chef and if I ever saw one of my people being rude to a guest I would fire them , now if they come in back and say this guest is a dbag and I can’t handle them them one of us in management would handle the situation.

It’s like I tell my kitchen staff. I am going to eventually tell you or ask you to do something you don’t like . Here is some advice if you want to call me some deragatory thing ,I suggest you say gotcha on the request then go find a place where I can’t hear you and say it so you feel better.

Saying it out of ear shot is venting ,saying it to me is insobordination.

Coplaining about guest in back is venting. Being rude to guest as aresponse to their behavior is insobordination .

Oh dont get me wrong, Twitter is the largest cesspool of humanity that even the LoL forums couldn’t hope to reach.

But its still a bad move to start attacking your clients right where the whole world can see it for eternity and use it back against you. I dont care if he has an opinion or not or whether his account is private or not, he is an employee of Blizzard, a well known one at that, his words carry weight that affects the company.

i don’t follow any streamers or anything so i just see these threads and i don’t know where they’re coming from. i don’t care if lore is sometimes snarky on twitter as he is not my friend on twitter so i don’t give a flying crap what he says. lol. i play the game because it’s fun. this is not a job that i am super obsessed with that i absolutely must to because my entire being is in love with it. idk.

Whats your basis for knowing who is lying in that situation? The rather infamous little restaurant on Gordan Ramsey’s show would constantly attack negative reviews, didnt mean they were right.

Yep I’m questing through alliance side and not one word about Ghuun and he’s all we hear about on the horde side. I’m enjoying the story but it just doesn’t match up when it’s supposed to be battle for Azeroth.
Alliance is getting invaded by horde, meanwhile horde is busy fighting old gods and has no idea what’s going on with alliance. Really does not add up, who wrote this expansion, did they not coordinate?. It could have been so much better.

I can count them (Posts for the entire team to get the sack).

What I can’t count is the number of posts calling for Ion or specific members of the team to be fired.

Like I said, I don’t know if I’d be successful running my business that way. It’s the principle of the thing for me. I’ve been in both sets of shoes – leader, and subordinate. If there’s someone loudly making a fuss and insulting my staff, not only are they ruining the evening for my staff, they’re ruining the evening for every other customer on the premises.

I would happily tell such a customer to kindly take their business elsewhere, and eat the cost of whatever they’d already eaten. My employees will work harder as a result, and every other patron who witnessed it would (hopefully) enjoy the rest of their time in my establishment in peace.

That isn’t to say that I’d remove anyone who had a problem with something – but being verbally abusive is right out the front door the way they came.

The owner usually calls out specifics in the situation that represents a more realistic line of events. Also my experience in the service industry. It’s obvious when someone is exaggerating in a review.

Pretty sure there is a whole subreddit based around those interactions. I’m not alone in loving it

Have you seen his old CM Twitter account? They follow him to his personal account because he tells them to.

That sounds rather specific for a hypothetical situation. Ive met and worked with plenty of nasty owners who could say their version better than some emotional reviewer could. There is nothing stopping one from saying they did everything right and the reviewer is wrong.

Seems a bit like jumping the shark to assume the owner is right.

But I digress, its a jump from the original topic. Was just curious.
