If you ever watched the launch at blizzcon, they said no LFG. It ruins the community and the “you dont have to use it if you dont want to” mentality is incorrect. Things like that eventually become part of the game and to advance you need to use them. So Addons like this they will do away with. Its nothing to worry about

yes, yes it is…that’s why there are Chuck Norris jokes, Barrens Chat and people randomly yelling “Porkchop Sandwiches”.
Retail is ------> that way. They have stated they don’t want things like this in game. Both at blizzcon and after. You won’t be using it. Hope ya brought your big boy pants, cause Classic is gonna kick you in the teeth if you’re fighting this hard to make things easy

It didn’t break vanilla so please prove your point. And retail doesn’t count since this add on doesn’t do cross-realm, porting, or automating.

The LFG they were referring to was the automated Dungeon Finder, which many call LFG, that auto-groups you and ports you directly into the instance.
That is NOT what this addon does.

Yes, that agenda.
There is an addon API for a reason. Blizzard has made no statement saying these sort of addons are going to be disallowed, just that they need to have a “middle ground” which balances convenience without too much automation.
Clearly, since the addons are working just fine days in the beta days before launch, Blizzard feels they are at that middle ground. Posts such as yours are much ado about nothing. So enjoy your Classic with a nice helping of addons, that’s the way you’re getting it no matter how much you protest.

Blizzcon was talking about the LFG that ports cross realm players to dungeons. Their “dont use it if you dont want to” was specifically about flying mounts.
Well if we get it broken then we’re golden.
They said anything that AUTOMATES it would be broken. This doesn’t do that.

I can’t make you want to ban it from the game.
I can only try to help you understand that:

It is much different than the CallToArms addon because it can communicate with other people who have the addon.

If enough people are using it, chat is completely unnecessary. It has full fledged LFG functionality, not just a chat parsing.

If enough people are using it, it will become mandatory if you want to form a group as forming groups in chat quickly dies out.

It will completely change the social dynamic of the original game. You will be inviting the class, not the player. You will not be trying to form lasting relationships with the people in the groups you form. Why add these people to your friends list to help you form groups in the future when other people with this addon are even more readily available?
