Shamans are Broken - Lets look at the numbers

Currently the shaman class is broken in terms of damage, this isnt a jab or a exagguration this is just based on pure metrics, every other class has one spec which performs at least adequately and may need some buffs to their other specs, however for the most part is able to perform at a “somewhat” competitive level in regards to damage.

Lets break it down based on current rankings out of 23 available roles:

Warrior: Currently 6th highest DPS in the game, with tank dps not being high.

Rogue: Currently 10th highest DPS in the game, with tank dps not being high.

Hunter: Currently 4th highest DPS in the game, with ranged hunter dps not being high.

Mage: Currently 1st highest DPS in the game, with frost dps not being high.

Warlock: Currently 3rd highest DPS in the game, with tank dps not being high

Paladin: Currently 8th highest DPS in the game, with tank dps not being high

Druid: Currently 9th highest DPS in the game, with tank dps not being high.

Priest: Currently 11th highest DPS in the game

As can be seen all of the classes have at least one spec which is performing ok or very well and their other specs not performing as well.
And now lets look at Shaman:

Enhancement - 2nd highest DPS in the entire game.

Elemental - 5th highest DPS in the entire game.

and believe it or not
TANK - 7th highest DPS in the entire game.

Meaning their tank Spec performs better as a DPS then Rogues, Paladins, Druids and Priests

Not only does shaman have one spec which is currently performing well, they have 3 one of which being the actual tank spec performing far better than other classes.

Just on a numbers basis I believe all classes should be able to in an ideal world put out similar numbers to each other meaning the goal for all classes should be a 1-9 in terms of rankings, with rankings being fundamentally inconsequential, however when you have one class dominating 3 of those rankings that is just not okay at a base level.

This class needs to be brought into line with wide sweeping nerfs across the entire class, this isnt based on feelings or opinions this just a metrics driven fact that not one single other class in the entire game is currently performing in the same broken state which shamans are.

As I said some classes are performing adequately, that doesnt mean that they dont need some further buffs, I would say middle of the pack as any dps is fine I mean at a fundamental level I think every class given their role should be able to put out similar numbers to every other class and given there are 9 classes top 9 should in reality be the goal for all classes, rogues do need some buffs however to bring them up but with shamans dominating 3 of the top 9 spots that is just at a basic level not ok.

Rogue doesn’t have a role outside of dps.

Just say shaman are OP and leave it at that.

huh? they quite literally have a tank role in SOD ran Uldaman with a rogue tank last night and we full cleared, was actually very smooth in spite of the last boss slapping like a mac truck.

you have missleading data.

WCL “top” dps classes are a joke. did you know those are extremelly rare cases of streamers/nolifers who get funneled all the posible buffs/debuffs so they can pump right? why dont you just check the “average” data of players instead of top parsers.

well… your “facts” are useless when compared to the average player. that’s a fact. average players given the most broken class wont do 600 dps per boss. i cant believe people still think wcl mean something when looking at top parsers
