I don’t mind a Shaman tank; I’m a competent healer and I’m sure I can keep them alive.
You do know that a good shaman tank literally pumps out more threat than a warrior and has passives that literally make it as strong as a warrior in 5mans.

Shamans have superior armor to druids, which is worth more then the stam.
Your talking to someone who tanked van raid content with shaman. You are mistaken. Only warriors surpass shamans in mitigation. And this is only due to shamans having very difficult, or inefficient gear options.

Shamans in the enhancement tree literally are given tanking specific passives. Rockbiter also as a built in passive that increases the shamans threat. They were designed to be tanks in vanilla.
They get increased threat generation
Increased parry
Increased armor
Increased dodge
Yes, you can spend a total of 11 talent points to make yourself more tank but all that does is give you the bare basics. You’re on par with a warrior who has not spent any talent points.
That does not make you a main tank lol. Maybe look at the tree again yourself, it’s catered to support while auto attacking.
Why do you think shaman have incredible slows with frost shock and earthbind? We can take a hit but you’re encouraged to kite, not tanking extended dmg.

Shaman can’t Tank and aren’t even considered when arguing who Tanks in a Raid. Paladins are the worst of the three real Tanks, suffering from mana issues, itemization gaps, and a lack of taunt. Druids and Warriors compete head-to-head with Druids being the king of threat, Warriors the king of survival.
But do go on thinking Shaman get more Armor than Druids… haha

If by “itemization” you mean lack of Plate, defensive modifiers, EH enhancements, taunt, and AoE, sure.

SHAMANS ARE NOT VIABLE TANKS AT LEVEL 60
You can tank as a Shaman in low to mid level dungeons, but the higher you go the less and less viable they become. They CAN NOT tank level 60 high end dungeons unless you want to spend 5 hours in there wiping repeatedly. Please stop trying to make theoretical arguments for it.

I’m sure there will be meme videos of rogues and hunters tanking too. I tanked quiet well into the 30s. I’ve still tanked in the 40s but it very clear that I could be supporting the group better as dps or healing.
If you need to use mana and shock cooldowns purely to keep threat, you’re taking away resources that would be used for those areas that shaman truly do excel at.
And? Streamers can be idiots too, by all means support your stance with actual numbers, gear, etc.
Even if you had gear with +Defense, you’d still fall flat on your butt dead.

Funny, I gave this Shaman all the +Armor items I could reasonably muster and he still barely hits over 6k total armor, and 3.5k health.
Druids can easily break 10k at this gearing point and dramatically more health.
Once buffs/consumables are added, the gulf widens further.
Stop lying to other people and yourself. Shaman aren’t tanks.
