That’s the Russian GL that forces his guild to let him do this and as the video shows… he gets scraped off the pavement repeatedly while a Druid and Warrior do the heavy lifting for him. There’s a reason the video is FOUR HOURS LONG for a BWL clear…
Same guy has also posted up “proof” of him doing AQ40 as well, while not actually Tanking 90% of it and forcing his guild to let him play the role of Warlock Tank for Twins. He gets really really angry when you call out how badly everyone had to hold back to not rip off him on Threat or the fact that he can’t even try to go toe-to-toe with the melee Emperor. He gave himself the first Deathsting that dropped
Which one? I posted several and no matter how many I do, folks manage to find something to cherry-pick because they can’t stand being wrong about their preconceptions about how the game works. Here’s another because YouTube is full of them:
Oh, my mistake, didn’t realize Level 40 had a mandatory cut-off. I guess Blizzard should have made that clear. Good thing I have random players who tell me the rules and such governing the game.
You’re sorely mistaken if you think I don’t want to watch this stuff.
It’s wonderfully entertaining to see.
For example, that Shaman “tank” ends up not tanking Kurinnaxx once a Warrior taunts the boss and tanks it instead, then the Shaman stands in a Sand Trap and literally CLICKS Earth Shock several times without realizing why it isn’t working.
Great stuff.
Then he goes on to lose aggro on adds during Rajaxx because he doesn’t drop Tremor Totem for himself. Can’t pull adds off people on Buru. Doesn’t tank Buru. Can’t hold aggro on trash. Doesn’t tank Moam. Dies on Ossirian, reincarnates, then ends up dying again. Group wipes. They try Ossirian again with the real tank and a Warrior holding aggro, they just barely kill it (Shaman dies again, of course). Doesn’t tank Ayamiss.
Definitely proof of how viable Shaman tanks are: not at all.
That doesn’t change what I said though. The person I responded to said:
This is not only patently false as far as multipliers are concerned anyway, but it further undermined by the fact that Shaman are forced into Leather/Mail items only. The existence of a Shield doesn’t make up anything when Plate users also get Shields, more effective usage out of them, and Plate users still can’t catch Druids until Tier 3 on overall EH.
You keep posting videos of Shaman failing and struggling in a way that even a brain-dead Warrior or Druid would never struggle. If you posted a video where a Shaman cleanly controlled the bosses and adds, used his utility properly to circumvent mechanics that other Tanks either cannot or must use tricks of their own to duplicate, WHILE NOT LOSING AGGRO OR DYING REPEATEDLY, then we’d have something interesting to talk about.
But such videos don’t exist because Shaman are leagues behind everyone else.
He’s the equivalent of Twitter “experts” who just barf up damning headlines that don’t even match the point he’s trying to make when you actually read the article, let alone prove anything substantial.
Shamans are C Tier along with Hunter pets and Voidwalkers. Sure they CAN do it, and you CAN run with them, but only if you can’t find a B Tier (Paladin or Druid) or A Tier (Warrior) tank.
