Just another one of the ‘intentional changes’ (HAHAHAHAHA) made by Blizzard. Elemental Shaman is now UNABLE to double crit with the Elemental mastery. A HUGE HUGE HUGE change to the class that is obviously unintended and won’t be fixed because Blizzard decided to make changes to Era that no one wanted. Thanks Blizzard. -$15

I main’d a shaman for a real long time… Play NS you don’t need Ele mastery, its a garbo talent any way.
Get NS, Ele Fury and the BWL trinket; you will thank me later; you will be 100X more powerful in PVP and greatly improve your survivability when you fight rogues who know what end of their foot goes in your rump and what end of the gouge goes in your eye.
NS is only better because of the spell batching being ruined by Blizzard, so that’s probably what I will do. That being said, that doesn’t change the fact that Blizzard , messed up Era for no real reason. The point of this post isn’t about NS > EM or EM > NS. It’s about one of the ‘intentional changes’ that Blizzard has made with this patch, that no one asked for.

NS is better because when you’re being sat on by non garbage players you can actually live due to the fact you don’t have to hard cast. Sure you can lean on grenades or tidal charm, but so can your enemies.
NS is just factually better in every single situation, especially after you get some gear and BWL trinket.
Be useful, play well, use NS.

Are you like, not reading what I am writing? You are so focused on the NS vs EM stuff. I don’t REALLY care what your opinion is on EM vs NS. I don’t do Bgs. I world PvP if anything. Not that that is the point I am trying to make at all.
THE POINT IS BLIZZARD MADE CHANGES TO ERA THAT NO ONE ASKED FOR. Nor did they say they were changing Shaman. So my GUESS is that there’s more changes we haven’t even run into yet.

They could give you a 10 mins spell batching window with Ele mastery and NS would still be literally 100X better a talent to take.

As I remember it in OG vanilla at the same time as Paladin got their version of Ele mastery nerfed so did actual shaman Ele mastery…
That was my memory of it, as for was Classic 2019 “Authentic” I don’t think so friend.
Well, NS is really good but I would posit that in early phases ele mastery can also be a very good choice.
It has two big advantages.

Zero mana cost to both the spells. When shaman is in rat gear, being able to cast 2 spells with zero cost can make a pretty big diff in wsg when you will find yourself oom very fast. (trying both back to back one really notices how much EM helps with mana).

bursting EFCs. NS gives a lot of a utility, but it doesn’t give the reliable ability to kill EFCs, especially in early phases when EM zug can generally get most players of equal gear.

True… very true. tho I do remain skeptical about batching being possible in OG vanilla on ele mastery after like 1.9 or so… maybe it was 1.11?? Reason I say that is because It was the same patch they also nerfed Divine Favor. I kinda cried about it at the time (back then).
I have no idea about the batching, I know on my SoM / Era shamans its been easy to land the combo prior to newest patch.
Removing it kinda sucks because while EM is strong it is so easy to counter. Just walk out of shock range while shaman is casting chain and it solves almost any kill potential they have.
I was going to say I like EM in AV. Where you are always in combat, and there are no huts. With zugzug I chain heal til im oom and drop a crit CL.
Why remove it though? Like what is the point of making that change? What is the point of giving Druids Polearms? What is the point of allowing Alli to have Rend? Etc.
There isn’t. The issue I have is that these are unintended changes to Era. When Era hasn’t been touched in 4 years.

I saw an Xfour pal running though Alterac (not the BG) a few weeks ago, that wasnt you? 
Well I unquit after that thread, tried SoD and didn’t like it, so I just went back to Era.
I was probably running to get some Alterac Manna Biscuit it is better than mage water, I buy them 300 at a time.

you can get the only 2 talents that actually matter… Elemental Fury and NS at the same time… The only other thing you really need to play Ele in PVP is BWL trinket.
It wasn’t nerfed until late tbc. This is a ridiculous change if true.
