Tallywacker, don’t make me get Jalen to post that video. You know the one.

I watched about 10 sec of that video and felt like blowing my brains out.

Is that how you felt during that Jalen video as well? You know, the one of him knocking you off a cliff to your death. Member? I member.

I did ok, early on.

But past month or two? Nope.

I have quit playing very much too though. So im not going to judge current wpvp too much, because the game itself is just lacking.

Well see next patch.

Most of what ive mentioned here is just overlying issue thats been consistent since ive come to ED.

Horde not having many smaller groups.
Alliance not having large groups.

And gear disparity.

By all means keep watching then, do us all a favor

I think the problem is that warmode gave players the option to opt out of wpvp. So for the majority of players if being flagged doesn’t give you a meaningful reward (e.g. conquest like in BFA) then it wont be worth turning it on. The server itself isn’t dead, that’s for sure. People just aren’t willing to turn WM on cause they get almost nothing out of it. 10%/15% more anima and gold… oh boy just what we all want.

Its a mix of both, tbh.

So many people that constantly complain about no wpvp, but dont go out.

(I guess im part of that demographic now tbh)

To me, Mechagon and Nazjatar pvp was fun, specially b4 ppl had flying.

The social aspect of this game is getting more and more vague… Lfg has contributed a lot to it… Random people barely talk to each other in groups or while questing… Meh idk

Yeahhh, thats how the playerbase is now.

Most people dont know what its actually like to be part of a good, active guild. Or to even just have a good solid group of friends on the same realm to do stuff with.

Which is just people being shy, or having weird expectations of others? My guild has people that join all the time, just to quit pretty quickly because they asked one time if anyone wanted to run something, and didnt get a response/or everyone was busy…

Like, theyll only be in guilds if everyone else is ready to drop everything and help them on the fly?

Iunno, people are weird.

The total loss of a cohesive server community, caused by sharding and cross-realm zones, is the primary reason for the decline. Warmode was just the final nail in the coffin, further separating an already fragmented group of players. We can turn on warmode all we want, but then we’re just fighting a ton of people from other servers with asterisks next to their names. Players we’ll likely never encounter again. You don’t make friends, or build rivalries/grudges this way. You can’t have awesome server events. Nothing noteworthy ever occurs, and even if by some miracle it did, nobody is going to recognize any of the characters from your story when you tell it later. For me personally, wPvP has felt absolutely hollow and pointless from Legion onward. It’s not just an Emerald Dream problem either. Retail WoW is just a lobby game now, regardless of your server.

See you guys on Grobb for TBC.

Yeah, after putting up with all of BfA I quit 2 weeks into the Shadowlands season. Honestly just feels like more of the same.

Yep, TBC should be good and hopefully people will start to wpvp again.

We will have:

world defense
easy obtained s1&2 pvp gear
no crz and hopefully no sharding.

Too bad its burning crusade.

Just went back to classic…will play there until TBC. Shadowlands has been a huge disappointment and I agree with what you have all said about the social aspect of the servers bring eroded by crz and warmode to name a few.

Too bad SL is worse than an expansion from 14 years ago. You’re not really saying much my dude

I play SL for a few months but the repetitive content got old quick. Went back to classic and am having a blast. Have maybe logged into retail 3 times in the past 4 months.

Yeah, and youre paying 15 bucks a month to play a 15 yr old game. Still supporting Blizz.

Private servers are freeee.

I don’t mind paying Blizz for classic just disappointed with retail and the direction it has gone. I’m not out to punish Blizzard and happy to give them money for Classic… I’m having a blast.

SL was the same experience as BFA and legion for me.

Only keep a sub to play classic and the occasional retail arena. Retail has been a steamy pile of horse dung since WoD and Classic has a promising future with TBC and eventually Wrath
