No thanks… I don’t watch any streamers, and I don’t give them revenue clicks… But I do think using borrowed power three expansions in a row is a bit much…

This is spoken like somebody that has no idea the impact that covenant abilities are going to have. If you think the difference will be anywhere close to 1%, you need to educate yourself on the systems and reevaluate your opinion. Vastly more than just “0.1%” of the people that play this game at end game care about their character not being trash. You remove optimizing characters, you remove the need for end game. Which means you kill the game. Farming outdated transmogs and achievements is not enough for most people. There has to be ways to optimize your character and push end game content. If systems are in place to prevent that, those are bad systems.

Preach praised Warlords of Draenor as one of WoW’s best expansions. Imagine trusting his opinions on whether an expansion is good or not.
Listen to his video, please don’t respond to me if you haven’t actually listened. A few minutes into the video he goes on an unhinged rant about some demon hunter relic that boosted trash DPs.

Imagine defending excessive borrowed time gated power, time gated content
just so you can play through more hurdles in a longer period of time with required repetitive gameplay over 2 years.

Starting to think OP is just trying to get more people to play on classic servers.
Because the relics and other covenant systems are going to compound on each other that will result in a difference far greater than 1%. It isn’t just that one relic, that is just one example. It’s that there are multiple systems LIKE THAT stacked on top of each other, and if you ever want to switch (WHICH MOST PEOPLE WILL WANT TO DO IF THE CONTENT CALLS FOR IT) you have to go through that process over and over and over. That is awful game design and such a massive step back.

This issue is all the parrots in the forum trying to scapegoat every player that ever tried to improve themselves, while glorifying players who have actively chosen to play their class badly and use badly itemized gear.
Preach is 100x better at presenting than Asmonwhat’s his name is.
Of course, no matter how badly you guys treat min-maxers, you know they’ll be there, doing their best to cope with the bone-headed systems that are being foisted on us, systems unlike anything anyone asked for.
But why glorify being bad players?
Because when casuals find out what a critstorm this is, how there’s going to be no casual content, and they’re going to be required to raid to get any gear at all, they’re going to leave the game. And you guys want them to do that after paying for the upgraded version of the game and 6 months of gametime.
