Shadowlands Typo & Grammatical Error Megathread

Mission: Campaign: Ahnqat’s Darkness (Kyrian Mission Table)

Enemy/Ability: Befouler Ahnqat/Ritual of Bone (Lvl 36)
Grammatical error: (in tooltip) “Spins a protective sheath of bone. Mitigating damage taken by -50% for two turns.”
Correction: “Spins a protective sheath of bone, mitigating damage taken by -50% for two turns.”
(The period between “bone” and “mitigating” should be a comma, and the capitalized “M” in “mitigating” should be changed accordingly.)

(Same mission)
Enemy/Ability: Necrotic Ritualist/Ritual Fervor
Grammatical error: (in tooltip) “Inspires a random ally to greater sacrifice. Buffing their damage by 50% for one turn
Correction: “Inspires a random ally to greater sacrifice, buffing their damage by 50% for one turn.
(The period between “sacrifice” and “buffing” should be a comma, and the capitalized “B” in “buffing” should be changed accordingly. Also, there should be a period after “turn”.)

Maldraxxus WQ “Abombing Run” should be “A Bombing Run”

Revendreth NPC “Ruinus Dredbat”: I assume it’s meant to be “Ruinous”. Its NPC ID is 157828 and it’s located at Muckpool: Banewood.

Also, shouldn’t this thread be stickied?

Mission Table, mission “Deconstruction Time”

It says that “The Warstitched Surgeons are going to far with their creations…”
It should be “too far”.

No, it is correct at “to far”. Too is another word for also and also far doesn’t work.

It’s a play on abominations.

Yes, but it means, in English, “A none bombing run”

(And “too far” is grammatically correct. Too: to a higher degree than is desirable, permissible, or possible; excessively.)

The achievements commonly get misspelled intentionally as they tend to be referring to something else. But the point I was trying to make is that the achievement is spelled one way, but the description of the item is spelled another way and when you are trying to refer to one from the other, the spelling difference means you won’t find it.

they’re right… “to far” doesn’t make sense.

too = to an excessive extent or degree; beyond what is desirable, fitting, or right

as stated, this is a play on “abomination”.

Covenant Mission: Tricksters Without Inhibition (Kyrian Lvl 25)

Enemy: Playful Trickster
Typo/Grammatical error: (in tooltip) “The Trickster heals front line allies for42
Fix: “The Trickster heals front line allies for 42.
(There should be a space between “for” and “42”; there should also be a period at the end of the sentence.)

Enemy: Mire Trickster
Grammatical error: (in tooltip) “The Trickster blows a glittering distracting dust across all enemies
Fix: “The Trickster blows a glittering, distracting dust across all enemies.
(There should be a comma between “glittering” and “distracting”; there should also be a period at the end of the sentence.)

Item: Chalice of Renegal’s Pact

Flavor text:

Sealing the most powerful in his kingdom to his will Renegal attracted much more attention that he ever desired.

That whole sentence is a mess. While I believe that it should be rewritten entirely, at least add a comma between “will” and “Renegal” and correct “that” to “than”.

Battle Pet: Bound Lightspawn
Ability: Rays of Light
Typo: (in tooltip)Restores19 health to all allies.”
Fix: “Restores 19 health to all allies.”
(There should be a space between “Restores” and “19”.)

If this is in the wrong thread, I ask forgiveness as I did not see a Typo & Grammatical Error Megathread for Cataclysm content so I figured the most recent thread would be best.

NPC: Forba Slabchisel
Location: (57.5, 71.8) Slabchisel’s Survey, Wetlands, Khaz Modan, Eastern Kingdoms, Azeroth.
Quest: Fight the Flood.
Issue: Quest text error showing “$lad:lass;” instead of just “lad” or “lass” depending on adventurer’s sex.

I’m not sure this is considered “Shadowlands” but the change came with Shadowlands, so I guess I’ll put it here…

When creating a new character, the tooltips for Demon Hunters and Death Knights still reads “_________ are a hero class, which means they start at a high level.” This is not true anymore, as both DHs and DKs now start at level 10.

This line should probably just be deleted.

All of the Ember Court “Best Friend” quests for permanent RSVP have a lot of typos, especially missing articles or nouns.

Also, Mistress Dyrax in the Theater of Pain is referred to as a sayaad. She is a Shivarra. Unless Blizzard intends to retcon them to be the same race.

RSVP: Sika still says “Olympic Village” instead of Aspirant’s Crucible

Quest: The Two Sides of History

Objectives:

Recruit The Profesor (Optional)

“Professor” is misspelled.

Quest: Ember Court: Mystery Mirrors

Objectives:

Collect 12 Shrouded Mirrors, 12 Scorched Mirror Fragments, and 3 Molten Cores.

It should say “Ashen” to match with the actual quest item. I found myself doing a double-take because I doubted an item from a classic-era raid was necessary.

There’s a typo in the name of the upcoming Patch 9.1 mount: “Slver Gearglider” (mount ID 1483). There’s an ‘i’ missing from Silver.

Typo in the description/flavour text of the upcoming Crimson Shardhide mount (mount ID 1506): “maw” should be capitalised.

Item name: Depraved Houndmasster’s Grips

“Houndmaster’s” is misspelled.
