Shadowlands looks like WOD 2.0

And y’all laughed at the Panda expansion.

Tsk tsk.

Why are you doing that? If you’re gonna post about how bad WoW is, at least don’t use waiting around for pointless rares as a legitimate example of gameplay.

You dont get it I see…

Honestly the most fun I’ve had in retail since the end of Panda is the new barbershop. Possibly SL’s best feature

SL has content.

Yeah, like BfA did.

That is not what OP said. This is what he said:

Random loot is the absence of choice. I don’t really know how this is a bad thing.

Yes. This is how RPGs work: You don’t get the best gear unless you’re doing the hardest content. You can still gear up without doing those things.

“There are no other ways to gear up except for this other way, but my own prerogatives are hindering me from doing that so it doesn’t count as another way.”

So if you don’t want to do the hardest content to earn better gear, or the alternative that, while still hard, is proof of another way to earn better gear, what is it that you want exactly? Do you want them to hand it to you through basic world quests that offer little-to-no valid reason for why you might need better gear? This is what RPGs have always been designed around. It’s like playing a Mario game and being upset that the stars aren’t given to you for just running around aimlessly in every level.

Please. Enlighten me, then.

I disagree, it looks more like BfA 2.0 so buckle up for the next 2yrs of World of Chore Craft

This is why I am not buying the expansion. It’s 2020 and Blizzard is still focused on a loot/progression systems that were barely modern in 2005. There are so many other games available where I can progress in manners that are more enjoyable, engaging and compatible with being an adult.

ESO may have a less engaging combat system but gearing is far more realistic and as a result people aren’t always tearing at each other’s throats over there over silly skinner-box related loot drama.

Even Classic WoW has a more enjoyable progression system than this. At this point all retail has is pretty graphics, some QoL and a dumbed down story that even a 7-year old can understand.

Its hard to imagine wod 2 being worse than a bfa 2.

I know it is completely wild that for some reason WOW is going backwards in terms of player experience. And yes I totally agree the current game design is not compatible with being an adult.

Shadowlands looks like it could be a good expansion. Most of it looks good. They delayed it to make changes. Why not try it before assuming it’s bad.

I logged in for the first day of prepatch and let me share a wild experience.

Someone Trolled trade Chat and said there is a hidden weapon for Shadowlands that you can find in ICE CROWN. About 100 people all said they where AROUSED jokingly only to find it was a troll. I said to myself Blizzard would never put something so interesting in the game because the raid loggers AKA elite players would cry about it as it requires world content to be relevant in raids or mythic plus. The real problem is the voice blizzard is listening too is the content creators who really cant be bothered to do anything in the world that doesnt enhance their ego as demonstrated by the nay sayers in this thread.

Classic WoW’s progression system is so enjoyable that people are asking others to power level them so they don’t have to do it.

Uh, no? Right now, you get 60 gear and then you do WQs and they offer you … 60-63.

Maybe if your stars align juuuuuust right, you might see a 65.

They expect you to get Benthic which means slogging in Nazjatar with 60 gear, which is not fun whatsoever. That stuff is overtuned for that i-level.

everything you listed sounds really good qctually, maybe SL won’t be that bad after all
