Shadowlands has strong Horde Potential

I thought the blood elves were not immortal?

Also, you guys dont find it just the SLIGHTEST bit odd that two alliance posters are here pinning the blame on what the NE civilization did on the HORDE aligned elves but NOT the race CALLED night elves?

come on, your bias is very clearly showing.

The only reason the NE fought the demons was because the demons were attacking them. That is it.

If the demons ignored the NE and attacked everyone else on azeroth the NE would 100% support them if their queen told them to. Keep in mind, the NE civilization was EXTREMELY Xenophobic and racist at this point in time, seeing all non-NE as subhuman (sub elf?) that dont deserve to live.

Also, on the subject of nighteborne. The nighteborne were part of resistance forces under Ravencrest, meaning since the beginning of the rebellion (there were three leaders, Ravencrest, Star-what-his-face, and Jarod Shadowsong). They erected the shield AFTER the war.

Now, yes, the nighteborne do bear responsibility for the exact same reasons the NE do, afterall they are one and the same. And like the NE, many nighteborne were around from the War of the Ancients.

Or you just don’t know the lore,

The blood elves were the original Highbourne, the higher caste of Nightelves who had a more mastery over magic they the lower bourne. They assisted Azshara in the original summoning of the Demons to azeroth. However eventually Dathremar(aka the orignal king of Blood elves) decided to take a few of the Highbourne and escape with Tyrande who had been captured.

They would end up refusing to stop using their magic and were exiled by the Nightelves.

The low borne(night elves) basically elves did adore Azshara however when they came across the demons they thought they thought they had captured their queen so fought to free her. However once it became apparent that the Queen was working with them they resolved to defeat her.

The Lowbourne(night elves) weren’t they fought along side the wildgods, Tauren, Furbolg and Earthen to defeat the legion.

The High bourne(blood elves) certainly were though, Hence why when they landed in Eastern kingdoms after being exiled they went about killing trolls.

Quite a few problems with your post:

  1. Aszhara betrayal was not widely known until AFTER the war (or worst case scenario, when the higheborne joined the army). Most of the important lore characters knew (tyrande, malfurion, illidan, jarod), but the common person did not.
  2. The only reason the NE worked with those groups is because
    A. their commander (Jarod Shadowsong) pushed it on the army when he became commander AFTER the army was basically at the point of full defeat.
    B. The first two commanders shot down the idea completely. In fact the entire leadership shot it down. Jarod, the time travelers, and Malfurion were the only ones who supported it.

So yea, thank Elune TWO NE (Jarod an Malfurion) WERE NOT RACIST.

Not according to Chronicle:

Azshara's views on Hyjal were well known to Cenarius. With growing unease, he had watched the night elf empire expand. Year by year, he became increasingly frustrated with the hubris and thoughtless actions of the sorcerous Highborne. The majority of night elf society continued honoring the old ways of revering the wilds. The fact that these folk still lived in harmony wit the land warmed Cenarius's heart, but he knew that they had no influence over Azshara and her arrogant followers.

Titan perspective and all that.

With the current Horde at the end of BfA, anything else than “killing them all” would be foolish. Well maybe not killing them all, but dismantle them for good and take away all of their military, soldiers etc. to ensure that no innocents have to suffer again.

If the horde for once shows that they actually regret their actions and are willing to make up for it (freeing souls/bringing them back to life, repairing the towns they destroyed, removing blight, regrowing lands and returning things they stole) it would actually make a little bit of sense to trust the horde.
Alliance should still be sceptical of course, but less so than they are at the end of BfA when the horde has commited that genocide and absolutely never felt bad about it.

That said, I can’t see any of that happening in Shadowlands, and I also can’t see the writers thinking far enough.
The horde was never supposed to be (that) evil. When you started playing a horde character in classic, you didn’t sign up for repeatedly killing children and sending them into wow hell. I don’t know why the writers cater to this minority that want to do that.

That passage doesnt show anything. There is no mention of them standing up to Azshara at any point in time. Only that their lifestyle is not the same as the highborne.

No they weren’t, and no didn’t. World of Warcraft Chronicle: Volume I Page 104:

Though they had twarted the attempt to create a new portal, the rebellious Highborne had no plans to join the night elf resistance and continue fighting the Legion. Fearing calamity, Elisande and her followers worked to fortify their holdings in Suramar.

The nightborne are the night elves of [Suramar] who fought the Legion in the great War of the Ancients to defend their home and close a second demonic portal using the Eye of Aman’thul that would have overtaken and outflanked the resistance forces led by [Kur’talos Ravencrest] and [Malfurion Stormrage]( to stop Queen Azshara
from wowpedia

You know what that [11] cites? World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 1, pg. 103 - 104. The thing I just quoted you.

It also sources the war of the ancients trilogy.

And what part of “had no plans to join the night elf resistance” did you miss?

and what part of fought against the legion and closed a second demonic portal that would have overwhelmed the resistance did you miss?

The part where that has any relevance to your false statement that they were part of the resistance.

Elisande served as a highly influential member of the [Highborne] caste in the ancient [Kaldorei Empire], acting directly at the behest of [Queen Azshara] herself. Ever distrustful of the of the [Burning Legion] which her Queen had allied with, Elisande eventually moved against them.

There is another from the website.

World of Warcraft Chronicle: Volume I, Pages 99-100:

Azshara and her Highborne used the Well of Eternity's energies to bring the Legion's minions into Azeroth. Waves of demonic warriors flooded out from the queen's palace, murdering every night elf in their path save for their Highborne allies.

World of Warcraft Chronicle: Volume I, Pages 103-104:

As battles raged across central Kalimdor, one group of Azshara's servants grew increasingly concerned for their own future. This small sect of Highborne sorcerers acted as an extension of the queen's will. From their headquarters in Suramar, they engaged in covert activities aimed at securing Azshara's rule and strengthening the empire.

Though Suramar’s elite Highborne had pledged their undying loyalty to Azshara, their views on the queen began to shift as the war dragged on. The group’s leader, Grand Magistrix Elisande, feared that the Legion did not have the Highborne’s best interest in mind.

So lets see here the nightborne:

  1. moved against the burning legion
2.closed a second portal that would have destroyed the resistance
  2. the moon guard, WHO WERE THE MAIN MAGICAL COMPONENT OF THE RESISTANCE WERE BASED IN SURAMAR

or im guessing the moon guard dont count?

The highborne of Suramar never joined the night elf resistance during the WotA; they ousted the demons in their city through their own internal revolt, then raised the barrier to wait things out rather than reinforcing their brethren in holding back the Legion’s main assault.

The initial night elf rejection of working with other races during the war was basically seated in the army being comprised of the old-school hereditary nobility, i.e. the pre-Highborne upper class like Ravencrest and Stareye. There wasn’t really any indication that the common night elves were stridently against allying with the other Azerothian races once Jarod took over command.

except they didnt raise the shield until the sundering happened

Also, the leaders of the resistence were not higheborne. They were military men, lords, generals and such and they hated the highborne (mostly because they thought they recieved special attention from the queen).

Did you play Legion? The Moon Guard were not part of the group protected inside Suramar City. The Nightborne even attacked and tried to kill the Moon Guard in Legion.
