What have you say?
Well, since Nathanos was able to stand against the powers of Elune I’m sure he can do the same thing against Bwonsamdi.
Assassin was a Zandalari… And someone influenced the Assassin’s failure.
Who is behind the assassination and who wants to stop it while making Talanji more like Zul? Was the Zandalari Isolationism natural or is someone controlling the entire race?
Was G’huun’s last words(“The contagion… has taken root within you…”) really for the Player or was it for Talanji? If G’huun has possessed Talanji and set up the assassination just to have an excuse to isolate the Zandalari then Xal’atath’s words about the weakest Old God being the ultimate victor may be more accurate than we thought.
Based on the except she’s not particular happy with them or the Horde in general. Which while understandable is rather off putting with how supportive she’s been throughout BfA.
As I read it, Talanji still complains about the lack of military support for the Zandalari.
My guess for who was behind it, given the assassin’s last words, are more followers of Shadra who dislike Bwonsamdi and Talanji, and, in turn, the force that probably pushed Zekhan was probably Bwonsamdi.
Wasn’t it the White Spider?
Not Samara, since I’m pretty sure she’s dead.
Nathanos also ended up losing that fight and had to retreat.
I guess if the plan is to empower him with a ton of Valk’yr channeling the Jailer that could work. Though then the problem becomes getting Bwonsamdi to stick around long enough for Nathanos to go Super Saiyan.
Point being powerful death entities aren’t easy to kill. Even harder if Bwonsamdi is similar to the other loa and can resurrect. His realm is supposed to be in Ardenweald, or at least that is what I keep hearing, which kind of implies a connection to the land of rebirth.
I wonder if we’ll get any revelations to Bwonsamdi’s nature from this. If they go with a more interesting route than “shoot him a lot” we might learn more about these death entities and how they function in relation to their opposites the wild gods.
This is probably Talanji’s first interaction with Thrall, though, as they never really crossed paths in BfA.
Ah… another reason to kill Sylvanas and Nathanos
I hope the plan fails and they’re both humiliated
……or killed
The counterpoint however is that anyone on team Sylvanas from now on are going to be powerful death entities empowered by the Jailor. Valk’yr are probably relatively small fish by comparison.
I imagine there are still degrees within her ranks. I seriously doubt Nathanos is exactly as powerful as Sylvanas herself is, much less Sira or Sylvanas’ dark rangers. The Jailer, like all WoW cosmic entities, only has so much power to hand out.
But I guess we’ll see how it goes in the novel.

- One of my favorites I want to call out here is this dungeon called The Other Side, or De Other Side, in Ardenweald.
However, given Ardenweald is being starved for anima right now like the other planes, resurrection of Wild Gods might not be available, making it an opportune movement to go after Bwonsamdi.
Is bwon starving for souls though, seems he still gets his troll souls when they pass on.
Bwonsamdi lost Vol’jin’s soul. We don’t know if the Jailer is taking the other souls Bwonsamdi would try to claim to the Maw as well.
He lost voljins because of some different power un related to the jailer but he still in nazmir at least has no problem collecting troll souls
Thanks for the link. It is really interesting that Bwonsamdi made his home in Ardenweald.
More support for my “Bwonsamdi is an ancient wild god who emphasizes death magic like Rezan did Light” theory.
And true. If the Jailer manages to starve Ardenweald completely Sylvanas could completely shut down the wild gods’ ability to resurrect.
But that would definitely add to the complexity of killing Bwonsamdi. I wouldn’t mind if the revelation was that Ardenweald’s weakness has made him more vulnerable than he ever has been.
The force that brought Vol’jin back is different than the one that took him. My guess is the one that brought him back was the Arbiter.
I might read this book only to see if it sheds some insight on why this Jailer figure wants to rub Sylvanas on all of creation. She’s so caustic at this point that the Burning Legion’s demon generals who scoured entire worlds of life weren’t built up to be so menacing.
But I doubt there’s any true rhyme or reason to it. He probably just wants everything to die, just like every other 100 foot tall entity in the setting.
