Shadowlands book coming july 14

Meh, this will be stupid.

I’m so sick of them being incapable of writing the Horde unified and growing stronger. Always division and crisis, and more hamfisted manipulation to dial up Sylvanas hate. I’d like nothing more than her to just disappear for a few years.

Exactly.

They think they are smart when they make Sylvanas irredeemably evil and suddenly she did all of this for Azeroth!

So surprising, so brilliant and totally not forseeable when the writers redeem their favorite toy so that she can be in the spotlight for even longer… NOT.

Sounds like a m. Night level plot twist

I’m not sure Blizz understands Sylvanas being killed beyond a shadow of a doubt would be immensely satisfying to most.

Am I misreading this or is it obvious that Sira is behind the assassination attempt?

Blizzard Watch has an excerpt of the assassination attempt. Sira was unlikely to be involved given who the assassin was.

God…please let this be the last book with Sylvanas in it. I really want to see how the new Horde functions, but yet of course it has to all be about Nathanos and Sylvanas again.

Well yeah, because it’s the prequel to the next expansion, that she stars in.

I get the reason why I’m just saying I’m tired of it and hope after this next one we wont have to anymore.

This actually sounds pretty good. The big pre-expansion novels are the best places to flesh out faction politics and both sides need that right now.

do you really think they are going to waste a single scene in that book about anything that’s not about Sylvanas or her followers

Ah okay. That settles that then.

I am actually incredibly excited for this book.

Troll protagonists?! I genuinely wasn’t sure we’d ever get another novel with troll main characters after Shadows of the Horde and Vol’jin’s unceremonious death.

I love the idea of building Zekhan into an actual protagonist in his own right. Between him and Rokhan Darkspear will now have TWO major characters in the story. Add in Talanji as the Zandalari rep and we have three.

This is more big name troll characters than we’ve ever had at one time. And if Bwonsamdi becomes a mainstay we can technically push that to four!

This also addresses a LOT of my concerns with the troll story going forward. We actually will get to see how Zandalar is doing post-war and how Talanji feels about the peace treaty. We’ll also get to see what her relationship with the council is like. At least from a troll lore perspective this is great news.

This all seems great to me. Dunno how Nathanos and Sira plan to kill a freakin’ god but as long as they don’t succeed I guess that annoying plot thread is worth the building up of two new troll heroes.

I might be more excited because I was 100% expecting a Sylvanas novel or something focusing on Lor’themar. More troll stuff is completely blind siding in a very good way.

Loas are not gods, in the sense of the Abrahamic God. They are more reminiscent of Greek or Nordic gods in concept, and they can die.

I mean, yah. Obviously. We just got out of an expansion where we saw multiple gods die and we kill all sorts of gods in Warcraft all the time.

I just mean Nathanos and Sira are not really on that level. Or shouldn’t be. They should need some trick or special artifact or something to take out a being as powerful as Bwonsamdi seems to be.

Killing a death entity isn’t as easy as shooting it with an arrow.

THe lich king is a god and sylvanas won against him, just cause they fail I wouldnt say they had no chance.

Nathanos was able to temporarily stop Tyrande who became the embodiment of a real god/Deity, so I can strongly assume that he also got some of the pact and was empowered accordingly.
