Shadowlands book coming july 14

I did the quest, they look like young Adults epecially considering you can kill trolls of their size in other places. I think they are about the size of male Blood trolls.

Then you’re really reaching if you did them and don’t acknowledge how disturbing it was. It changed MY outlook on regular dwarves completely. I wouldn’t have issues if they battled adult trolls, but kids is where I draw the line. And Frostmane whelps are kids, this is what Soothsayers said and and we know it because we actually ecnounter later adult trolls.

Targeting younglings is a big nono for me.

Said quest was kept in Cataclysm. Trolls were no more dehumanized then a dozen other we kill in game.

Again, your reaching. We have actual troll kid models, these were not it. At worse these whelps were teens and like it or not, government, legitimate government recruit and have soldiers as young as 16.

I am pretty sure it was changed to make it even worse with addition of Soothsayers. As I don’t recall them at all in vanilla experience.

And I disagree about them being “no more dehuminised than other beings” They’re a playable race (well not exactly forst trolls, but troll as a race is playable) and this race is the only one who is denied their pathos and martyrology.
Heck, I even argued with one poster who claimed that Zandalari were in wrong for attacking dwarves back in MoP. He also made quite a dance around the fact that they abused trolls to no end, they pushed them to the far rear of the lands, stole from them and killed their kids as a trolls fault. Zandalari were the only faction to put end to it as likely no Alliance member would move a finger to stop this.

Quest were updated in Cataclysm. In Vanilla only orcs and humans had a child model, in TBC they added belf and draenei. In Cataclysm I guess this is when they added goblins too.

The only troll child models which were created were now, in BfA for Zandalari. So that is not a point at all.

That doesn’t dispute that Frosmane Whelps were in fact children. If I recall correctly Vol’Jin was reffering himself as a whelp when he was memorising his childhood.

cough Goblins.

I sympathize with what you’re saying, but … goblins, man.

At least we don’t kill their kids, and I don’t recall goblins losing their land to others and having to suck it up.

I agree that goblins are also treated badly but Imo it’s nowhere near close to trolls.

I mean goblins did enslaved those trolls on that island though, after the trolls originally enslaved them so I guess fair is fair?

Tbh these trolls originally did pay them for their work. I don’t know why it was written that they changed their mind and decided to enslave them while it was strongly against their believes - because it was a big deal, trolls looked down on Mogu fordoing that after all. But as you said yourself goblins got their justice and they were not as much villanized.

Well the goblins where more primitive till they got kajamite, so I guess they where harder to pay when they got really smart in the trolls minds? Who knows, I definitely don’t but I do remember that goblin starting zone and being like “wow goblins do not play around.”

Honestly if Trolls would enforce brutal labor that was not worth the payment, it would somehow gap “not slavery yet, but it’s is an abuse”. And I’d be fine with this, what bothered me is that there was no explanation on why trolls abandoned one of their core rules for that.

But overall Chronicles din’t even try to paint them in more positive light, even when trolls were on defensive they were still the bad guys. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I haven’t read any of the chronicles tbh

::He would look to all of the red dragon whelps he killed to farm up the pet in vanilla.::

Well I’m a bit late to the game. Skimmed over it all and just want to say how disappointed I am in them pushing Zekhan. I get touting the poor boy who believed in the leader of the rebellion around as a trophy and all, inviting him to dinners and the like, but could we have gotten a Rokhan story instead? Have him place Gadrin in charge for the day to day things a little bit?

It’s not so much Zekhan himself either, but we have all of these minor characters the player base loves from various quest lines and zones, who’d we love to see expanded upon, and they’re forgotten in time. Zekhan is a mixed bag. I personally hate him. I never really liked the character and have been increasingly upset how prevalent they’ve made him. It just feels forced and this book only solidifies that dissatisfaction.

Otherwise I like the premise and at this point, even as a Slyvanas and OG Forsaken fan, I’d be okay with just seeing her, Nathanos, Sira (hopefully Alleria and Turalyon) get offed at this point. Lets just move past this all. Clean slate. No more.

Been a while but I dont recall killing red dragon whelps, black dragons yes but mostly because they were evil.

“It’s okay to kill kids because they were born evil”

Okay.

More of the lesser evil considering if you dont kill them, they will end up turning into fire breathing dragons that will kill everyone you love and probably bring the apocalypse.

Except that Wrathion is proof you can help them.

It took one dragon and a gnome(?) to figure out how to cleanse the corruption of the old gods and Wrathion figured out how to keep Ebonhorn from going crazy.

Heck, Wrathion can cleanse the Twilight Dragons depending on how canon the Voidwing mount is.

So yeah, made this album back the last time the “dwarves are bad because they kill troll kids” thing came up.

So you can see the reactions from the NPCs involved. The other side of that coin is, of course, “The Frostmane are awful because they are using their children as expendable child soldiers.”

Which is true. The Frostmane ARE sending their young to attack. With the objective of driving the dwarves out of the valley. The dwarves are supposed to, what? Stand there and get axed to death? Nobody is going to do that.

The dwarves even figure this out. They launch a decapitating strike at the leadership- the fully grown trolls hiding in a cave while they send their children to die on dwarven guns. Charming, Frostmane. Charming.

And hey, Blood in the Snow shows us that the Frostmane DID in fact, have much more substantial forces at their disposal.

So yeah, painting the dwarves as the baddies there? Eh, dwarves can take it. But that conflict was started by the Frostmane using their children as cannon fodder. If the dwarves are bad for fighting back and ending a threat? Sure, they can be bad. But the Frostmane? Worse.

At this point I’d rather read fanfiction. :no_good_woman:
Otherwise I keep dreading what they do with the characters.
Anduin screwed one after another in the last one and he’s still dancing Lalaland like nothing. Sylvanas went from cold undead leader to Wako-bish.
No thanks I’ll skip.
