Shadowlands book coming july 14

Horde players basically want the middle ground but blizzard can only write (just like they develop stuff) to extremities.

Green Jesus became so loud Mentz asked people to stop. They underestimated how popular Thrall was to the horde, while also turning him into a figure nobody liked. And all the horde was left with was a Garrosh that made Wrath Garrosh look like a peace loving hippy.

If you think the hate for Garrosh was solely because of Garrosh, I’d say you are being myopic at best.

can you read, you are explaining to me why people hated garrosh, I know why people hated him, but heres the thing, people hated him, it doesnt matter why he was hated enough that they removed him.

So yes, you’re myopic.

Your the one who said he wasnt hated, he was

I’m a pre-MoP Garrosh fan, pre-Cata Sylvanas fan, and pre-BfA Saurfang fan. I’ve just come to terms with the fact that:

  • Any character can get twisted into something awful and barely recognizable as what I liked.
  • It will be followed by the writing team indirectly telling me I was wrong for ever having liked the character
  • And that will be paired with players telling me I’m a bad person for ever having liked the character.

Imagine thinking pre cata sylvanas is different, sure garrosh was flipped, but sylvanas is and always was the same character

Imagine having Sylvanas Derangement Syndrome. I seem to remember a character dying in defense of her homeland.

::He would look at TBC Garrosh who didn’t give a cow that broken were going to kill his clan because “my daddy was evil, abloobloo.”::

Yeah that was alive sylvanas, dead sylvanas was always evil.

Too late for that I’m afraid. =P

You might want to look into treatment for SDS.

I was here on the forums during Wrath. Garrosh was pretty hated, along with varian. This was when Thrall was beloved. People hated him backtalking thrall.

Sylvanas is basically Kerrigan in terms of power level atm.

Not really. He was a jackass in Wrath before he even became Warchief. The Devs went out of their way to tell Horde players who we would see another side of him and come round to him being warchief. Foolishly, we actually believed them. What Garrosh ended up as fit the direction they set for him in Wrath better than the few glimpses of ‘honor’ he supposedly had.

It was never about Thrall. I remember quite clearly cause I was one of the ones going WTF when they announced Garrosh would be warchief. Everything up to that point suggested he would be terrible.

Garrosh has always been a controversial character. When leaks and rumours begun in regards to Garrosh becoming the new Warchief, people were livid that it was him.

As another Wrath era poster, I 100% guarantee that Garrosh was hated back in Wrath as a war mongerer who back talked Thrall, who was probably the most popular heroic character back before Cata.

Not just on the story forums, Garrosh was disliked across Scrolls of Lore and WoWhead, Can’t comment on MMOchamp cause I didn’t post on it back then.

People disliked Garrosh cause he was so polar to Thrall and was branded a war mongerer for little good reason. He just seemed to have a hard on for hating the Alliance that was never really justified in Wrath, he just did. Then there was that fiasco in the Ulduar trailer where Garrosh ignored Thrall’s orders to stand down and engaged with Varian.

I believe Garrosh was supposed to be a controversial figure, but that they ended up backing down when it became apparent just how much people didn’t like him.

But Garrosh was hated in Wrath, no doubt.

Going back to the book here…but does anyone else find it odd that it’s apparently not on Amazon yet? I noticed when I went to pre-order like usual when new books are announced and was surprised by the fact there’s no Shadows Rising showing up when I search.

Maybe Blizzard still has a grudge from when Amazon’s preview options spoiled a bunch of the last pre-expac novel.

At least we can take comfort in one thing. So long as the Horde remains leaderless, it will be significantly more difficult to villain bat us as a lazy means of developing conflict in a future expansion.

Well its on there now.

Can’t post links but MMO-Champion currently has the link on their front page.

This is Blizzard we’re talking about. If they think another faction war is a good idea in any of their future planning meetings, you can bet they’ll asspull their way into making Baine go murder crazy.
