here is my thought process on this, why tell people 12AM unless its very close. if they expected it would be delayed later then that they wouldn’t keep people up all night. it just seems cruel when they know a huge amount of people will stay up till whatever time they announce.

Or they don’t care? Why tell people itll be 10? Why not just say its “til further notice” and just put it up when its up. This is getting ridiculous. I feel bad for the people who made time into their schedule specifically for prepatch… what a bummer

Servers had to be up by 10am pdt. But it’s not like either of us will get what we want (or wanted).
I think its actually ignorant as hell to give us such short notice and pretend like they had no idea the whole time.
You don’t realize 15 minutes before you launch that you need another two hours.

I don’t think they care about keeping people up all night. East coast/Central people will already be up super late by that point.

*We’ve just made the decision to keep realms offline for another two years while we work through further issues encountered in maintenance.
We’re now estimating that we’ll complete this work by May 20th, 2023 by 5:00 a.m. PST.
That’s 7:00 a.m. CDT, 8:00 a.m. EDT, 3:00 p.m. AWST, 8:00 p.m. AEST, and 10:00 p.m. NZST.

literally causing FOMO sleep deprivation. Just call it a night after it gets to an unreasonable hour so we can all go to friggin sleep! That way you can have more time than you need to work on it, instead of making hopeful estimates and making us sit around all night. ffs.

Here’s a fun idea.
Do something else with your time.
Because of this horrible delay all players will be rewarded with an entire armor set of their choosing and an additional 50 slots in bank space.
Seriously though, 13 days of pre patch? People who work full time will have like 3 days off in that time period

I’m currently on retail. 
lmao this was my only day off this week so i was pumped to get some playtime in today… apparently not.
I think the time notifications are only because “They’ll be up when they’re up!” wouldn’t be a proper business etiquette like response.
Everyone will always complain whether it is 30 minutes or 30 hours downtime on patch days, but the complainers will still pay and continue to play. They just want the world to know they are ANGRY and they want it NOW!!
