If you win in chess should you get bis gear? Maybe super op cosmetics to scare your opponent into defeat?
They give you mony if you win in chess.
That is if you have some real skill, not imaginable like Fox here.
With real money you can unlock all sorts of skins on your car, apartment, etc.
Also you can get bis gear for usre.
Hmmm if you go pro in WoW you can make money as well though.
True but required skill incomparable.
The pinnacle of skilled WoW players do make cash prizes though. I’m not familiar with the size of cash prize pools in pro chess, but the top-4 on the list below all had prize winnings > $200K.

Idk being able to strategize and think ahead 10 moves is a different thing compared to perhaps randomized boss abilities that require a different approach. It might be useful for knowing your rotation and having it heavily memorized and knowing when to change it up on the fly as group dynamics and encounter prerequisites change based on boss hp left and required damage needed.
I’m sure someone could be a world class chess player but a god awful fps player, so does that mean fps games like CoD are massively harder? I do hereby surmise it does not.
I am dying over here!!!
Lolllll
Gear should be easy, the real test is the ability to work as a group. learn mechanics and deal with them. That is the real skill, not being lucky with gear drops
Everyone has access. Most cannot achieve it. It’s not a percentage thing.
It could be, though. They could come up with some other criteria for distributing the same percentage of bis gear that is currently being obtained, and there would be massive, MASSIVE whining in the forums by the players who ended up not getting what they thought they deserved.
I’m really chuckling at the most recent comments:
Sweatlord Tryhard: Go find an easier game because this game should be challenging, and if this is too challenging for you.
Uber-casual: No, I like this game.
Uberr-casual: Go find a harder game because this game should be easy, and if it’s too easy for you.
Sweatlord Tryhard: No, I like this game.
Literally two sides of the same coin, essentially making the same argument, each believing that the game is for them and not for everyone else.
You can have whatever opinion you want man. That does not meat it can’t be challenged.
LMAO THE IRONY OF YOU SAYING THIS.
Yes but I am correct in this argument.
Make BiS gear easily accessible for everyone to have these consequences:
-
Focus on completing content rather than obtaining gear
-
A realization that raid fights and such are more about skill and group coordination rather than the gear you are wearing.
-
Make the competition more skill focused, competitions based around time and execution, rather than feeling the best are simply those with the same gear.
In general, there is WAY too much emphasis in this game on gear and the item level you have. I don’t honestly experience it any other video game because in every other game I know the emphasis is on completing the content rather than item level.
Worse, blizzard plays into it with the vault and upgrade system to encourage people to grind the same content over and over. So you get people who think getting mythic track gear from doing 10s is as good as someone out there clearing a 15, or worse, don’t feel any motivation to even do something higher than a 10.
the bottom of the barrel should get the BIS stuff. We need stats to compensate for our lack of skill.
Let the skilled players use skill, they don’t need stats.
Let the rabbits wear glasses.
Tell that to the Athletics, who have a payroll of under $70m this year and play against teams like the Yankees who have a $300m payroll. Even in sports not all thing are equal.
All players have access to BIS, but very few actually get it. Even now, to actually have full BIS i would bet less than a handful of players have it this far into the season.
Not just 369, but perfect statted absolute Best in slot. Not only do you need to get the gear, You also need to give up 3 weeks of vault loot to get tokens for sockets to gem it before its considered best in slot. Not only that, but getting tertiary stats on them aswell? Not a chance.
BIS is not feasable even for the 1% and nothing more than a dream we can chase. Even top players will still be needing items till the very end of the season.
True BIS is not reachable
Everyone…
/10. Chars
My main concern is the skill ceiling and time investment being raised for the same rewards.
This has been true in TWW from day 1.
As long as you have 20 Players, you can literally face roll first four raid bosses on mythic difficulty (pug-able now) and eventually get yourself mythic track gear for almost every slot, minus one that can be filled with crafted gear.
Do I even need to go into the can of worms that is mythic plus this season? I will just leave it there for now…
I know I’m late to this thread. But in response to OP’s question, I think 100% of players should have bis gear provided they’re willing to pay for it in the in-game store.
The current state of the game’s rewards and game modes create too much division among the player base. The only way to solve it fairly at this juncture is to put bis seasonal gear in the store for a fixed price (say $100 - $200 USD) so that everyone has fair access.
Should near 100% imo.
Legendary axe in DF is a good example and, bug lord mount and atiesh stuff in vanilla is a really bad example.
The real problem is “when”, rather than the percentage of players who can get those rewards.
“Dedicated palyers”(usually those “(rmt) professional” guilds and addicts) can get their rewards quicker, but greed and arrogant elitism mindset would only turn the game into rmt cesspool, just look at those Chinese realms.
