Serious question about botting

Mod Edit: Locking this thread since it’s been derailed into trolling/harassment, and OP’s question has been answered.

How do I right click report the bots in stratholme? I just /who’d stratholme on my low-medpop server, and it’s 8 mages and 2 priests, all with just random letters in their names, there is no option for me to right click report them on the /who tab.

Which server and faction is that?

Kurinnaxx Alliance

4 mages 1 priest, none of them have random letters in their names.

This is happening on my server Earthfury too, on both the horde and alliance side. In fact it’s happening on almost every server.

So instead of giving me an answer you decided to logon my server and try to debunk me? Well now there are 5 of them, all guildless, and very random names, as this is the forums you cant disclose their names, you seem really cool though!

Just trying to figure out how to report someone through the /who function!

You can’t. Reporting someone because you don’t like their name is not supported. You have NO information showing “this is a bot”. So rather than letting you waste Blizzard’s time and money (GMs are expensive), this action is not allowed.

I’m a real player, and I can create characters with random names. If I was a multi-boxer (I’m not, but it is legal and not reportable), I would be more likely to use random names. If I was a multi-boxer power-leveling their own characters in dungeons (legal, not reportable) I would be even more likely.

If you see a bot and you have actual evidence of botting (hint: names are NOT evidence) please report that to Blizzard.

Think of it this way: every FALSE report uses up GM time and means one less REAL BOTTER gets banned. You want to help the botters?

The same 4 mages are online and their names aren’t full of random letters like you claimed. I’ve come to realize that people will lie about virtually everything on the forums.

You can report players you suspect of botting by emailing hacks@blizzard.com

I even messaged one and they replied to me, this is why the “bots” don’t get banned, because they’re not even bots lol.

You shouldn’t, there’s your answer. Simply being inside an instance is not evidence of botting.

Just a reminder that younger wow players will occasionally just type in random letters for their username. I know I did it as a youngster back in 2007.

It’s not okay to speak to people like this.

It’s definitely not a fact that they’re bots. Four mages in Stratholme with “silly” names doesn’t mean they’re bots.

Whew, we dodged one there.

I see a new mental condition on the horizon…

“Karen Disorder”

So you’re saying there’s only 2 multibotter in your server?
