Senior quest designer quits

If he’s the one who developed the flower bouncy quest then I’m not exactly sad to see him go.

Flappy bird quest isn’t bad in concept, but the programming is just awful. There’s a reason they used a uniform birdy that’s exactly the same for everyone.

You realize the teams are made up of more than just one person right?

He only worked on the intro SL bit.
They are hiring more positions and I can bet 9.2 is pretty far along.

He’s been with the company 10 years so sounds like the norm IMO.

you’re right…the art team had like what, 4? lol

and classes don’t even have dedicated devs to them

not nearly enough manpower over there

considering it took them 8 months to release 9.1, i kinda doubt that it’s any where near done. if anything, my bet is that they are instead working on next expansion since that brings in those juicy box sales. cha ching!

I haven’t read a quest since BC when I discovered QuestHelper  Sad to see him go though, hope he enjoys working on whatever he does at his next job :+1:

Nope, team of 1, don’t ask me how

Is this really worth anything? I mean, who else can program for us to collect 12 bear rumps in the next expansion?

cackles and wiggles toes

They were further along than people knew.
And yes it was slow, but I stand by my feeling that 9.2 is far along. I never said it was ‘near done’ as we have now another long while even at it’s pacing before 9.2 is to hit PTR even.

They work on the next expansion kind of at the same time with split duties. It’s safe to say SL is not the norm for them.

Having to replace an experienced employee and train a new one is always a short-term loss in productivity.

Blizzard is a small piece of a much larger company at this point, and it’s more of a revolving door than it once was. At least it feels like it from what we hear publicly. I think it’s about time people stop putting much respect in Blizzard as its own entity – because it’s not.

Either they put out a good product or they don’t. If they don’t, screw it, move on. “Old Blizzard” doesn’t exist, hasn’t for awhile, and isn’t coming back.

Like I said convenience is always king especially if it right in your comfort zone .

If you really want to know the answer to this question it is available to you in game

Click Credits and it’ll show you a nice long list of people who worked on the game, there’s an Expansion button over on the left that lets you change which expansion credits you’re looking at.

While this is true, a number of people leaving a business in a short period of time is unusual. Businesses will usually try to retain valued employees, as quality people are always difficult to find and it avoids the drawn out recruiting process and assimilation period.
When employees can’t be retained on a fairly regular basis, the reason why will always come up. Putting them all in a “life change, family issues etc” basket is simply unrealistic.

i was basing it more of Chris Kaleiki’s recent insight on the dev team and how it operated on his exit video. That spoke louder to me than the credits, but I understand the point you’re making too.

The developers are paid enough to become multi millionaires, how much better are you expecting from employment?

They just need people who design terrible systems to keep WoW going.

NEVER GET THEM WET!!!
