Watch tetsu’s streams. His group pops chickens phase 3. If your guild needs the extra DPS to get vashj down in phase 3 it is 100% worth it seeing as ranged are doing most of the work in phase 2 anyway.
If your guild isn’t downing vash by now… probably safer to use a PvP trinket in that slot to help with the root.
Chicken is useless when you’re dead.
The fight becomes so much easier with high dps. You save your potion cooldown for living action potion to get out of the roots.
And I just checked that log.
He got a 32 parse that fight he used a chicken.
He had 3 squawks. Hardly a “by a mile” play.
Funny he didn’t do that again the week after. Your entire parse is ogre suit on that fight. That’s the single biggest DPS increase in the game right now.
He literally did it today on his shaman about 10 minutes ago with 5x squawks.
5X squawks is equal to a haste potion that lasts for 4 minutes.
Anyway what I am trying to demonstrate is that it isnt just about parsing (yes of course ogre suit helps). Lots of guilds struggle with p3 of vashj. If they used chickens for that phase, it would help them bypass the dps check.
Again. In theory. In theory meaning… sure it’s possible… but incredibly unlikely
Would love to see a guild still struggling with vash attempt that and kill it. Chances are DPS are their least concern.
It’s only unlikely because not many casual guild’s are aware of how good it is yet. If a guild isn’t completely hopeless and they arent dying to stupid stuff in phase 2, they just need the extra dps to get her down.
You give guilds that are still 8/10 far too much credit and respect.
Again, over reacting to something not really that big of a deal except the top parsers
My guild only started using chickens recently but you can bet that we would have used it to kill her during progression 100%. It would have saved us many wipes having that extra dps.
Future raids will be the same. Need that extra dps on bruttallus? Quick let the chickens out of the coop.
It trivializes content
Lol sure dude. W.e you say.
40 times per minute is the gcd lock for everyone without haste. with haste your locked to at maximum 60 attacks per minute.
Not everything is on the GCD. That’s why prot warriors have the highest CPM.
Yeah totems are like .5 GCD or something. Idk.
Either way enh is a pretty difficult class to play.
Oh yeah, totems are a shorter GCD also. Enhance is definitely one of the most complex specs in TBC.
Nobody is forcing your guild of degenerate parse-chimp morons to artificially lengthen your raid in their pursuit of a flawed metric which is supposed to measure in some sense the efficiency of your clears.
And Blizzard shouldn’t keep redesigning the game to compensate for the fact that its players are a bunch of imbeciles.
You can say the same with drums, that no one would have forced the entire raid to go LW , but the community decided they didn’t want that in the game. A stack of chickens is 5 times more haste than drums.
By the way my guild is planning to use chickens on progression fights in BT/MH so it’s not just about parsing. You could argue it is about parsing right now, because content is already on farm. We would have used them for progression fights in this current phase if we knew about chickens earlier
This is a dumb waste of time because you’d be better served by getting reps on the actual mechanics.
But by all means if you want to be dumb, Blizzard should not prevent you.
Why learn mechanics, when you can just bypass them with high enough dps?
If you have to ask, you’ll never know
Stop beig bad and learn how to effectively use your chicken instead of wasting time. Or don’t use it. A 99 still totally possible without. You won’t get r1 but you weren’t going to anyway so relax.
