Second wow account ban

What people in the forums think doesn’t matter when Blizzard’s hacks team is reviewing your account and appeal. Stick to the official channels for processing your request.

If you see someone cheating, report them through the in-game tools or via the email people keep linking. Beyond that, it’s best to save the “I see others do it and not get banned” comments for your friend group or Reddit.

Exploits, even if they are widespread, are still exploits. We don’t know what has happened here but it is entirely reasonable to point out that the video provided shows an exploit. It could be irrelevant for all we know and this is due to something like autohotkey running, but what people can point out is limited to what can be observed or common occurances.

Also, please don’t insult folks especially on this forum.

sigh I forsee lots of deleted/moderated posts in here once Vrak or Orylia get in and have to clean up this mess. Quite a thing to walk in on at the beginning of the day.

Appeals are NOT a conversation. It’s asking for a second set of eyes to look at Blizzard’s (not your) data again to see if an error was made. External “evidence” is not accepted no matter what it is. They go by their logs only. False positives and mistakes are rare, but they do happen.

Folks!

OP asked a question, states they received help, even marked a response a solution.

Everything else, what’s bannable, what the OP was actioned for, the lawyering, the gibes, the chest bumping, and everything else getting thrown into the pot, all going around in circles, isn’t pertinent.

Not to mention a good chunck of what’s being argued is speculation.

Yes. It always has been. This is not new. It’s toxic behavior.

No one has said anything is fine over something else.

You are likely going to be in for a rude awakening soon.

I genuinely couldn’t tell if he really thought he had a legal avenue for this grievance and was trying to help him dispel that belief.

Usually I can spot someone being goofy/joking but not always.

Whether you disagree or not, that is the way it came out to everyone else. I get it, you’re just trying to help, but advising someone into doing something the wrong way is not the advice anyone should be giving, and should really be avoided.

The problem with videos and the reason Blizzard will not use them as proof is 1) because they only show gameplay and not what software is actively running on your computer, whether you’re using that software or not, and 2) Videos can be edited.

Blizzard has all of the logs and data and can see exactly what we see and more. They only use their information when determining account actions.

To answer the initial question, it shouldn’t be necessary but it shouldn’t hurt either.

Just so you are aware, that isn’t how investigations works. Game Master’s don’t do these investigations, it is our Hacks team that does. Action or inaction doesn’t depend on the mood of whomever is doing the investigation, it is based on the data they collect.

For? They do not do appeals, especially not through that email. If you are reporting possible exploitation that mailbox is what you’d use if you are unable to use the in-game reporting options.

Please stop encouraging people to use contact points that aren’t valid. All it does it clog up those contact points with content that must be sifted through to get to what they can help with.

I’m sorry, but yes you did. Providing a contact point and saying “you can…” is exactly that. Otherwise, why provide it?
