For real, we are the worst raid dps in the game right now. When are they going to buff??

99 parsing shadow priests doing 1/3 the damage of 80 parsing warriors.

Please add a VT rune that makes VT apply a 30% increased damage done by the priests spells instead of heal the party. Also buff wrath it hits for 320 damage the same as era when it doesn’t crit it feels bad. When rogues are hitting 1k muts and hunters are dropping 1700 crit instant cast chimera shots and locks instant cast searing pain for 600. A casted 320 nuke is soft.

  • Fingers of Frost: Increased to 25% chance. Up from 15%
  • Ice Lance: Base damage up from 60 to 75, scaling Coefficient increased from 0.15 per SP to 0.25 per SP
    ^these for sure. Ice lance hitting for under 100 is crazy. If you combo it with a freeze which takes a lot of set up it barely does as much damage as 1 tick of spriest dot rofl.

Would love to see some changes to Holy Wrath as well since this ability isn’t really used at all with its current cast time. Would like to see some way of making it instant cast.

One of my suggestions was to have it interact with Art of War proc’ing an Instant Cast use of the ability (Still with it’s regular Cooldown ofcourse).

This is false in pvp… is hitting around 180-200
And criting for double obviously

With the buff it’ll hit for around 440-500 a tick
Double with crit obviously

This is with around 280-300 sp

They tried to balance specs in P2 and kneejerk overshot every time. It’s more about incompetence then anything at this point.

Lots of negativity below… but you’ve been addressing things as you can and we all should know that SoD is a test. Thanks for the updates. Couple of things for everyone to remember:
Not all changes will be perfect and sometimes your class will get nerfed, we all get hit at some point.

  • Focused attacks isn’t meant to be competitive with honor amongst thieves. It’s meant as a non-party option
  • Ferals can still spec feral charge (which even adds a skill gap with range threshold and there are awesome macros for this)
  • Victory rush is meant for leveling or niche pvp scenarios
  • Lightning shield rune needed a huge nerf, they have demonstrated they don’t want dead classes so threat should be fixed eventually.

Changes to things like shamanistic rage for raid mana, melee dps owning meters, etc. are way more likely to change with competent constructive criticism rather than “you suck, I’m done”. Life lesson. In the meantime, compare your parses or speed or w/e to others of your class / faction to see how great you actually are while things slowly get balanced. It’s a much more happy and accurate existence.

Why doesn’t Bliz post official patch notes on top of forums when applied? The information remains scattered in posts like this eventual to be buried.

Notes don’t seem to have taken effect after maintenance.

(Correction: Felguard changes don’t seem to have taken effect.)

As a single indie dev I posted every single change from my change log in a fun way for the 12-15~ players I had and it took maybe 20 minutes. I have no idea why a billion-dollar company can barely communicate at all.

Mage is already the master of OOM carrying excessive amounts of mana potions like a Diablo 2 Sorceress (except you have a 2 minute cooldown between uses).

If mana management is going to get worse next phase, then combat pacing needs to slow down significantly. That means lower DPS across the board, making Healer mana management worse, and most importantly making Threat management much more challenging. This will tilt mechanics closer to Vanilla.

I’m not advocating for or against those changes, but it would flip everyone’s expectation of gameplay thus far on its head. If the only design intent is to penalize caster DPS further than as is already, then fewer will want to play those classes because Wanding for 50 damage is not as entertaining (nor does it instill much of a sense of contribution) compared to free auto-attack crits for 500-1K+.

Just make sham rage and the paladin effect only apply to party and only return 10% to others. Ret paladins and Shamans are supposed to be able to generate nearly infinite mana FOR THEMSELVES to compete with the way energy and rage works. The issue is how much it is benefitting others.

They are trying to bring paladins up so your class can feel better but you would rather the other classes feel worse to match so everyone can feel bad. Very defeatist of you.

Hey Blizz way to make no mention you are making it so we don’t have to do the Grizzby quests to buy the rune for 3g. It’s nice and a long time coming, but I literally spent 40g this morning on 30 shredder recovery things and right after I finished someone in my guild told me they aren’t needed anymore.

50% duration reduced, 30% speed reduced, but cooldown cut in half. While that did in fact destroy arcane mages in a horrible way…

That’s still not a 90%, nor 99% nerf.

its funny cuz lots of shamans/horde in general complain about the strength of paladin in pvp.

So uh…have we got some actual patch notes somewhere? Because I’m noticing spirit of the alpha damage bonus got nerfed to 5%

Def didnt kill sham tank. It was broken. L2p if your losing threat.

Just was broken in aoe, shaman tank have the worst threat/damage single target in the game, nerf after nerf just killed the spec.
