So, I’ve fixed the issue on mine and found out after a lot of tests that it was caused by Shadow Quality. Set it to the Recommended Settings and if it is already, set it to Low. Flickering gone!
lmao…thats not a fix…thats just turning off the broken feature.
- “My Internet keeps having disconnect issues…So i just unplugged the modem and now just read books all day. Internet fixed!”
- …“But dont you still pay your monthly internet bill?!”
- “Yeah, but the problem is now fixed!”
Jesus Christ, how old are you to come up with that ?
That’s how I fixed it and I’m ok with it. It’s also a hint about what’s wrong. Bring something to the table or shut the hell up, nobody cares about you stop supporting Blizzard.
boo hoo…its not a fix. This same wording that you are using is the reason the issue still exists today. Because people said it was a “fix” back in retail when the problem happened after they switched the shadowlands engine to the new version that supported ray tracing. They called it a “Fix” to roll back drivers and never update your gpu…so blizzard didnt bother to do anything about it because, in their own post and on reddit, said there was a “Fix”…even if temporary and then moved on and forgot about it.
Now that problem is in Classic because they never bothered to actually FIX the problem and brought in the same broken Shadowlands engine…thinking it was ok, there is a “fix” available to people.
So you can take that whining and shove it. Its not a fix. Blizzard needs to actually FIX this broken system that they keep charging us for.
My whining… coming from the guy crying about both my post and Blizzard. “Blizzard ruined my life, waa I’m not supporting them anymore” lol. Sit down kid.
You’re the clown who came up with the most idiotic answer. It’s not a fix, but it’s a temporary solution until it’s figured out. Again, at least we know for sure that it’s Shadow Quality that’s causing it.
lol so now im a kid. first i was old. now a kid. lmao. cant even keep the insults together, memory retention that short? lol
t
So just turn off features and call it a day. Repeat the same thing thats been going on for months. Nothing gets fixed. We get charged to play in the broken game and deal with the monstrous amount of lighting, shading, and texture bugs. Brilliant. Wait till you start falling through the textures as they flicker away…hopefully it doesnt happen to you in pvp…its grounds for an automated suspension. But hey, it only happened before in retail over these exact same issues…cant possibly happen again in Classic with the same retail engine and bugs right?!
someone did something to this dude’s cereals KEKW
that did the trick for me. hopefully blizz can fix it
lol so now im a kid. first i was old. now a kid. lmao. cant even keep the insults together, memory retention that short?
What ??? ok I’ll just ignore that.
I’m not a Blizzard employee. I didn’t release some official patch notes or something, I just found the issue and posted it with a temporary solution. You’re going off on me for no reason lol. I’m not paid by Blizzard and I want this fixed as much as you do. I agree with the rest you said.
you just called me old
Then called me a kid…
And now trying to act like a victim and reason it…
…ok. lmao. maybe that kind of stuff works in your inner circle, i would highly suggest you find different people though lol
Asking someone how old they are now implies that they’re old ?
You’re a fkn waste of time.
LOL this dude crazy
For me the issue only comes up when the shadow quality is low. This never happened in classic. I can see we are on a different engine than classic. (Which no one NEEDED IN THE FIRST PLACE) So now, rather it’s a random chair, or a bush, or the war room in org, tanaris inn where every piece of furniture is going OFF having a rave, something is having an epileptic seizure. I tested it on my 3060 and an older gtx 960, both do the exact same thing. New gpu or not, when shadow is low The game flickers. I really wonder what else blizzard will do to piss everyone off and chip away at the experience we PAYED FOR. I blame the whatever engine tbc is running on right now. Classic didn’t have this issue. Not like THIS. And we most certainly could have remained on the previous one. To add to this pathetic display, if a player has their wand out, or anything that emits light, it leaves a big giant light cube. At this point this is embarrassing. World of Warcraft is slowly dying off because of little things like this yet I still can’t do my PvP dailies because of yet another bug. A company with a massive community, incredible resources, very capable developers, and an audience who are willing to pay their money even though blizzard dumps on us repeatedly is gonna continue to dump on WOW, not because the company dosent have what it takes to deliver promising experiences, not because they don’t have the resources or the money to pay workers, but because they just don’t care. They look down on the players and refuse to listen. If it dosent make them a dollar they don’t care. If world of Warcraft reaches its end it’s not because the game lost potential, it’ll be because of the company who lost touch with its players mad unwillingness to listen, and how NOT serious they take our time. A company who has everything they need to not only create something great, but has a community who’s willing to give them chance after chance because they KNOW that. Sorry for the rant I’ll stay on topic but this is pathetic. I thought the gpu was on its way out. Im seeing blizzard forum mods telling people to download hot fixes and drivers. Meanwhile this is an obvious issue. This isn’t a driver issue. Its only prepatch ladies and gentlemen. Buckle up because it’s only gonna get worse. Did I mention burning crusade was said and done when I was 12? I’m 26 now. Pathetic.
I have been experiencing the same thing, just since the pre-patch.
Hey all, just fixed mine after a ton of tweaking.
I not only went into my nvidia control panel and disabled G-SYNC, but also changed from directx12 to directx11. I was monitoring the flickering on the screen and it went away after this combination of changes, I haven’t noticed any since.
Hopefully this helps yall!
The old polygon models for building etc are not symmetrical with contiguous joins so when the new lighting scheme interacts it looks blocky and disjointed.
can we get this fixed already
I notice this flickering only happens when i ultra max out my settings @10, 144hz, 200% render scale 2880p. But when i want to run nicehash with no mh/s drop, I lower my settings to all medium 1440p 75hz, but then all the flickering is gone when my settings are not ultra.
I just turned off V-Sync and it fixed it for me.
Same Zoot, that’s what finally fixed it for me.
I have the gray/dark flashing screen every few minutes, very light but very distracting. I’ve tried turning off all vsync related options (as well as trying my GPUs vsync), selecting GPU instead of auto detect, capping/uncapping fps, DX11 and Legacy, as well as turning off all SSAO/shadow related options. It persists through all of this.
I don’t have this issue on retail at all but I’m just curious how many others have a persistent gray “flash” on all the ground textures in any zone seemingly random. I’d like to think it isn’t my hardware but stranger things have happened I guess.
