Similar issue here on my desktop I think. Screen brightness flashes to be darker momentarily and then goes back to normal. Been mainly playing on my crummy laptop where I don’t have the issue.
Haven’t done much testing but it is super annoying. 2080ti with gsync running upscaled from 1440p to 4k with frames capped at 120.
Setting my Graphics API to DirectX 11 Legacy solved the screen flickering for me. It also removed the weird glowing squares around most light sources and fire effects.
This is 100% on the money. I couldn’t describe it better. I’ve discovered that if I have other graphics intensive stuff running behind wow on my 4k monitor I get more pronounced issues some of the time. My friend and I both have 3080 ftw3s’ and we both have the same issue playing in 4k. Tweaking the foreground refresh rate has somewhat helped… Anyhow its a pretty annoying issue =/
Turning off Triple Buffering fixed this issue for me
I’m on an Nvidia RTX2070 and was having major flickering issues in Zangarmarsh.
Tried several of the recommendations here, including turning off G Sync, but the thing that ultimately did it was way too simple: switched Graphics Card from Auto Detect to my Nvidia RTX2070. No more flickering.
go to system, advance, all the way at the bottom where it says graphics card, if its set to auto detect, change it to w/e your graphics card is. worked for me.
Yes, I am seeing this issue since my Radeon R9 290 finally died after seven years of loyal service and I had to sidegrade to a Radeon RX 570.
